We stayed here for the Chinese New Year parade and enjoyed the location and service at The Kensington Park Hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Also, we are Elks members and the facilities here were great.

"Tiny room, good location"

We had to make an emergency stay at the Kensington when our flight fromSFO got canceled last minute. The reservation took way too long, and the amenities were average at best. The room itself was tiny, even by SF/NYC standards, staff were ok, not particularly helpful.. only good thing about this hotel is it’s proximity to Union Sq. All in all, it is not a hotel I would choose to stay at again.

This is one of the best stays in San Francisco. It is the Elks building. We belong to the Elks Lodge in San Rafael. One of the benefits of being an Elk we get to attend the San Francisco Elks parties and stay at the Kensington. It’s a small very personal hotel. Full of charm. Next to Restaurants, Shopping and Theaters.

Location, location, location. Staff, staff, staff The LOCATION is fantastic. You can get to all places EASILY by public transport. Situated in the middle of city area, there is no shortage of restaurants and shops. After a day trip out, we can return to our hotel safely and can still continue to shop and dine around. The HOTEL STAFF is fantastic. Everyone from the front desk to the concierge and housekeeping is so friendly and knowledgeable. Jojit was especially friendly. And HONEST too. I was already on the airplane back to Singapore when I realised I had left a newly bought belt in the hotel closet. Upon landing I quickly emailed the hotel to inform them. They responded so quickly and said they found the belt. I made arrangement for someone to collect from the hotel. The entire process so so fuss free. I am totally impressed by their honesty and efficiency. Not forgetting, they provide some EXCELLENT REFRESHMENT at the hotel lobby throughout the day: Apple tea and fruit infused iced water during the day, and an addition of sherry in the evening. Even though breakfast is not included, I was surprised to find coffee and tea counter at the common area outside my hotel room. There were even biscotti biscuits provided. Kensington, you have yourself a great team of employees. I am sure to return. I will also highly recommend you to all my friends. Thank you for the memory. Lee Shou Ching Singapore

"Nice Stay, But Understand What You're Getting!"

This isn't "the Ritz" by any means. The building was constructed in 1924 and hasn't had a major renovation since. Pros: Located a half block from Union Square and two doors from Morton's (with a nice bar), good King beds, fairly good-sized rooms and access to the Elks Lodge (when it's open and it is not open after 4 pm on weekends). Cons: Older property, older furniture, no on-site restaurant (but room service from a nearby restaurant is available). We enjoyed this hotel for a one night stay. The cost of the room was half what we would have paid at the JW Marriott. You just need to know what you're getting before you arrive, so you are not disappointed or surprised!! We would recommend for a one-time stay for one night.
