"Not a JW Marriott class of hotel"

First I want to say that the staff of this hotel were incredible. Every last one of them. Unfortunately the hotel is older and consequently myself and other colleagues had issues. The main problem is the smell of the rooms. The first room they gave me smelled like mould. The second room they gave me also smelled like mould, but a little better. The third room smelled musty, but acceptable for the stay. The carpets need to be replaced.

We arrived late evening for a one night pre-cruise stay after travelling 21 hours from N.Ireland. Went to room, no offer of taking cases for us. got to room, one double bed in room for two of us and 18 year old disabled son. Rang Reception to say we needed beds for 3, told to stay there, they'd ring back. Reception rang to say no other pull-outs or bed available, they'd send sheets and pillows up - for my son to sleep on the floor!!!!! I informed them that would not be happening and asked to see Manager in Reception. I was told by manager he had no rooms for 3 people, my son could sleep on floor. My son has never slept on floor, is recovering from major spinal surgery and won't be sleeping on floor of a hotel we've booked and paid for. It was made clear we wouldn't be moving. Manager said he'd no spare beds and no spare rooms in entire hotel. I showed him our voucher for 3 people and said we'd be staying there until he found a room. After 5 minutes staring at the computer, he said they had one which was dirty but could be cleaned. He then said they had found one but it was in non-refurbished area. By this time we were exhausted and glad of anything. We took our cases, again no concierge or offer of help. The room had 3 beds and appeared clean, but the musty smell was horrendous. One night staying there was more than enough and we were glad to leave next morning. We were appalled that a hotel of this rating was unable to provide as per the booking (booked in January 2019) and to actually expect a guest to sleep on the floor. Never, anywhere in the world, have we experienced such appalling service and to treat guests like that. Even a hostel for the homeless wouldn't expect anyone to sleep on the floor!

We stayed here for 1 night before our cruise, We were greeted by a large gentleman behind the dest no welcome just asked our name took cc details issued us with our key and then dismissed us no the lifts are there the restaurant or bar are there no nothing overall the hotel was ok rooms were nice beer was very expensive bar area was untidy we found a local bar and eatery round the corner which gave great American hospitality

As a platinum Elite member I have stayed at Marriott properties all over the world. This hotel unfortunately had the worst service and rudest staff I have ever come across....the check in agent did not even bother to greet me, just took my passport and said one of the rooms will not be ready till 4pm which was fine except when we went at 4 he said it was still not ready and could not tell us when it would be. He then proceeded to very rudely tell us ‘you are welcome to sit in the lobby and wait if you wish and there is nothing I can do to help’. The room was finally ready at 4.30. In the executive lounge the hot water had run out to make tea, when I asked the one available staff member for some hot water he said to come back in an hour as he was too busy to refill it now. One of our rooms was not serviced when we got back around 6pm on the 2nd day, when we requested service we were told ‘sorry it’s too late and all the staff have gone home’. The hotel overall is nice and had a great location, if you can put up with the lack of service it’s a great place to stay!

We stayed here for one night before a cruise. I am Titanium and was asked if I would like to wait for a newly remodeled room to be approved and be the first people to stay in it. We chose to wait. The room was very nicely updated. The staff was great and we really enjoyed our stay here!
