"Spring Break 2015"
April 2015
I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. It was clean, and the staff were amazing. Had some issues with our keys but the front desk was there to help. Loved the nightly popcorn. Disppointed that the outside pool was not heated because the inside pool was packed with young kids and our older kids could not enjoy the pool or hot tub.

"Now this is what I'm Talking About"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed July 18, 2019 NEW
"Now this is what I'm talking about" was exclaimed from our grandchild as we entered the room at Inn on the River. She loved the room. Why? Because it actually had a table and two chairs in it and comfortable beds and it was a nice size. We had previously spent the last two nights at a chain hotel which was ok. BUT the Inn on the River was Comfortable. It felt like you were staying in someone's guest bedroom. Unlike the chain hotel, the Inn on the River had plenty of outlets to charge our modern devices. The lighting in the room was great, as well as the a/c which kept us all comfortable without freezing the person who is unlucky enough to have the bed next to the unit. They also had a blanket in closet which is so rare now days that we always travel with a blanket. Every comfort we could think of was at the Inn on the River. They also had a mat for the tub which doesn't sound important until you slip in the tub which actually happened to one of us at a chain hotel. Towels were soft and they put enough in the room for all of us. The room was quiet. We didn't hear anyone in the hall or above us or street or parking lot noise. The water in the shower was hot and with good water pressure. The room was also very clean. When we walked in, we were greeted with the smile and they not only addressed us but our granddaughter and gave her a goodie bag. She loved that, as well as the scavenger hunt game they had. The back porch over looking the river is very relaxing. While the pool isn't as exciting as some of the newer hotels in the area, such as no slide, lazy river, or splash pad, it was clean and still enjoyable. We tried both the indoor and outdoor pools and enjoyed them both. They also had a couple of beach balls in the pool that my granddaughter enjoyed playing with. The addition of some noodles would be great. The breakfast was good and filling. I personally thought it was on the same level as Dreammore's breakfast without the $20 plus dollar charge per person. My husband thought it was also good but pointed out that Dreammore will make you an omelet and he really likes their omelets. However, the Inn on the River has a lovely lady that will make you a very yummy waffle. It's the best waffle I've ever had. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a wonderful flavor. She will make them and bring them to you, along with warm syrup and whip cream. Yum. As far as breakfast compared to chain hotels, and we've stayed in plenty over the years, it beats them. They had bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, grits, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, bagels, muffins, and so on. If you've ever stayed at the Christmas Inn, it does not beat their breakfast, which has to be one of the best anywhere, but the Inn on the River also doesn't come with that room price tag. Our Inn on the River room cost as much as the chain hotels but was so much better. We loved the location too. Believe the reviews. They are true. We will be back next time we're in the area.

"Fantastic family getaway!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed July 15, 2019 NEW
This was the perfect hotel for our family! It's conveniently located in the heart of Pigeon Forge but you also have the tranquil view of the river. We enjoyed sitting on the patio while drinking coffee or eating breakfast. We even fed ducks! As a bonus, you will have easy access to a paved trail that runs alongside the river for walking or jogging. The path goes under the Parkway too and makes it convenient to walk to nearby businesses. The room was perfect for our family of four. My husband and I shared a queen bed but my teenage boys did not wish to share a bed. How wonderful that there was a pullout sofa bed to keep everyone happy! The walk in closet was roomy enough for us to use as a changing room in the event the bathroom was occupied. The staff couldn't be any friendlier! They provided us with local discount coupons upon check in. Each and every employee we encountered was helpful and pleasant.
