Due to changes in LAX airport pickup regulation, 1 decided to book for Karmel shuttle instead of Uber or Taxi to/from Anaheim. The experience were great and the 9 seaters van is good and comfortable. The return trip were full with 2 family-of-4 and myself. So total 9 persons fit well for people and our luggage

Recently departed and returned from LAX for a vacation trip. At the recommendation of the So. Cal. Auto Club I used Karmel Shuttle. Previously have used other local carriers. Arranging for pick up at my home and at LAX was a breeze. The office person was pleasant and helpful. The driver on the home pickup was exactly on time friendly and knowledgeable. Driver for the LAX pick up was friendly and efficient. Vans were new and spotless. Will use Karmel again.

Book transportation from LAX to Anaheim and back. Very simple. Called the 1 800 number and confirmed 48 hrs prior. Arrived to LAX airport, picked up our luggage and called the same 1800 number. A shuttle was there within 15 min. The driver was pleasant and got us to our hotel with no issues. Followed the same on the way back and made it to the airport with no issues.

"Terrible Customer Service"

After numerous attempts to confirm our transfer (unanswered) we were then left at Anaheim and had to get taxis to our next destination - after being assured that we were entitled to a refund. Of course, on return to Australia, this promise is now being denied and all responsibility has been negated by Karmel.

I would recommend and use again. Cost was affordable- $50 for 1 adult and 2 kids. We waited about 15 minutes for pick-up after we used the text to let them know we had our luggage. Picked up 2 other people so 5 in the van. Driver did apologize towards the end of our ride for being on the phone and texting since he had something he needed to address.

Frequently Asked Questions about Hollywood Sign On Horseback with Transportation

What should we wear?
Jeans or trousers and closed toe shoes are strongly recommended! Sneakers or boots with a small heel are best! No one will be turned away based on attire, but riding in shorts, flip-flops, high-heeled shoes and/or dresses/skirts is not recommended for comfort and safety.

Are helmets required?
Yes, you cannot ride without a helmet! We provide helmets free of charge. If you have your own riding helmet you are more than welcome to bring it! Bicycle helmets don’t make the cut.

What should we bring with us?
You can take a phone or small camera with you on the trail but not a bag. We can keep all loose items safe for you in our office while you ride. There is not much shade on the trail so you will most likely want to have sunscreen. We sell drinks such as water and Gatorade but do not have any snacks. Selfie sticks are not allowed.

Are there any rider restrictions in place?
Children must be 8 years old or older and adults must weigh under 240 lbs. These restrictions are due to our insurance policy and there are no exceptions. We also do not recommend horseback riding if you have had any recent surgeries, have any neck/back/hip/knee/foot injuries or if you are pregnant.

What are the trails like?
You are riding through Griffith Park and along the edge of steep hills the entire way. Part of what makes the park so beautiful is its mountainous terrain. The trails are wide, but the horses walk near the edge instinctively to keep an eye on their surroundings. We do not recommend a tour if you have a severe fear of heights.

Are your rides beginner friendly?
Absolutely! The horses walk at a relaxed pace, in a line. You will have one or more guides with you out on the trail. Your level of riding experience will not change the pace of the ride. Due to Griffith Park rules the horses cannot trot, canter or gallop.
