The belief is that art serves as a vessel to convey stories and shed light on important messages spanning the past, present, and future. Hopscotch provides a platform for artists to showcase their works in sustainable and innovative ways, encouraging exploration of new mediums and facilitating connections with diverse audiences. Emphasis is placed on fostering enduring relationships and synergy with staff, artists, and local communities.

  • Due to the complex technology employed, installations may require unplanned maintenance; this may result in the closure of a particular installation.
  • Hopscotch San Antonio reserves the right to photograph visitors on the premises and use photographs taken by visitors within the art space and posted publicly.
  • Tripods, excessive props, costume changes, commercial or product shoots, media shoots, press interviews, and all professional video equipment are prohibited without prior approval.
  • Costumes and accessories that obscure a participant’s face or are culturally insensitive are prohibited.

Where is Hopscotch San Antonio located?

Hopscotch is located downtown in the Travis Park Plaza Building at 711 Navarro. The main entrance is located on the park side at the corner of Navarro and Travis.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in the Travis Park Plaza Garage adjacent to Hopscotch for a discounted rate of $5 for 3 hours. Enter off of Travis Street between Navarro and St. Mary’s. Bring your parking ticket with you and show it to Hopscotch staff to receive the discounted rate. Please note, the museum only offers discounted parking validation for the Travis Park Plaza Garage.

Do I have to have a ticket to enter?

You do not have to purchase a ticket to visit their lounge, gift shop, patio, or food truck spaces. You will need a ticket to enter the gallery space.

What time do I need to arrive for my timed ticket?

You are welcome to arrive early to enjoy a beverage from our lobby lounge or purchase bites from our food truck. You may enter the gallery no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled ticket time. If you arrive 30 minutes after your purchased time slot, you will not be guaranteed access into the gallery.

How long is the gallery experience?

You may stay and explore as long as you like. Most guests spend an average of 60-90 minutes in the gallery portion of the experience.

Can I leave and come back in?

You can revisit the bar, lounge, or patio at any time. With your tickets, you may also re-enter the gallery at any point during your visit so long as you have not left and re-entered the building.

Are photos and videos allowed?

Please take as many photos and videos as you like. However, you are encouraged to put your phone away at times to fully immerse yourself in the experience. Please be considerate of other guests when taking photos or videos. Tripods, excessive props, costume/outfit changes, commercial or product shoots, media shoots, press interviews, and all professional video equipment are not allowed without approval and accompaniment from a Hopscotch representative.

Is Hopscotch for all ages?

Hopscotch welcomes all audiences, though some installations are more adult-focused than others. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The venue asks that adults supervise minors accordingly because some exhibits are more about looking or listening than touching. Wall displays and staff are on hand to guide you to help you make the most out of your Hopscotch experience.

Can I bring food and beverages into Hopscotch?

Outside food and beverages are not allowed at Hopscotch. Drinking fountains and hydration stations are available throughout the facility. They have a full menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase in their lounge. You may bring drinks from the lounge with you throughout the experience. Also, food is usually available for purchase on their patio.

Are pets allowed?

Well behaved pets are allowed on leash on the patio and in the lounge as long as they are accompanied by their owner. If your pet is causing a disruption you may be asked to leave. Animals are never allowed in the gallery unless they are a trained service animal.
