"Enjoyable stay!"
July 2019
Family friendly place to stay while visiting the Williamsburg area! Lots of space for the price, and possibility to cook with the small kitchens. Walls are thin though, in case you get little ones next door like we did. Kids enjoyed the amenities, and definitely would stay again!

"Christmas Vacation"
December 2018
This was our first Christmas vacation at Powhatan Resort. We loved our cozy 2 bedroom condo. The restaurant/bar on site was amazing. We ventured out to see all the beautiful lights at Christmas Town that was near by. To top off our stay, we woke up to snow on our last day. As a mother it meant a lot to have my grown children with me for a weekend trip. This will now be a family tradition. I have already marked dates on my calendar for next year.

"Nice, but hidden costs."
June 2018
This hotel was very nice, the in-room laundry was a nice addition. Plenty of activities for the kids. They were a pushy with their time-share program. Their resort fee was more expensive than what was listed on my print out from Reserve Williamsburg.

Tip: skip the coserige table--that's where they get pushy about time shares and want all kinds of personal info. Check in was a long process.

We stayed in A1 bedroom ground floor apartment and it was a very well equipped and comfortable apartment. The grounds are really nice and well maintained. The staff are very accommodating and friendly.

We checked in and they sent us to a a second desk to "help us continue checking in" and we had to fight to get out of the clutches of a salesman who wanted us to purchase a timeshare. I told him repeatedly we were not I terested and I had work I needed to attend to (I work remotely and deal with time sensitive issues) and he just dismissed it. MISERABLE check in, our room smells like old soup and the furniture is not in the best condition. The fridge did not work, which would probably explain the smell. We found out the hard way with wasted leftovers. They allowed unregistered people to park, so our parking spot was taken and we had to park on the grass. Really classy. What's the point if a permit and a designated spot if you let anyone park anywhere and bring their friends? And if you do stay, better hope you're not on the first floor. If there are heavy stepper upstairs you don't stand a sleeping chance. The whole place is just creepy and was topped off by the greeting "welcome home." Not a historical place, just a gated community surrounding an old building.

"Don’t stay here"

Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. The unit was old and musty and the staff unwelcoming, which I could have dealt with. But when I was called out of bed at 10:30 to move my car into overflow parking, because no one at check in told me (despite being asked if I was a first time guest) you only had one space per unit and we had 2 cars, I was annoyed. I still could have gotten over that after being told security would give me a ride back to my room. But that did not happen. So at 11 at night, in 30* weather, in my pajamas, I walked back to my unit alone. Just stay somewhere else.

"Disgusted"

My friend and I booked a weekend stay at the Historic Powhatan Resort a few weeks ago for a girls weekend. Check in time was 4pm and we had an event at 5pm, so I had called prior to our arrival to make sure that we could check in and come back the next morning for the "sales pitch" at the welcome desk. I was assured that was fine. We checked in and the woman behind the desk was very nice. We got the cards to our room and on our way out the door, a young gentleman who was employed at the hotel tells my friend "don't forget to go to the welcome desk." My girlfriend replied "ok, thank you." The employee then said "well f@@k you, just leave your fu@@ing keys then." I was completely shocked and said "woah, that was completely inappropriate" to which he replied "I'm sorry." We were running way behind schedule, so we just went to our condo. Our card worked the outside door, but wouldn't open the door to the condo. So, back to the check in area we went. While trying to fix the room card, the front desk manager was there. I quietly explained to him what happened a few minutes prior. He was very apologetic and went to get another employee. That employee asked us to wait while she got Ryan, who is the Director of Marketing. He apologized as well and asked that I email him exactly what we experienced, which I did. I have never head another word from Ryan or Diamond Resorts. No vouchers for dinner as an apology. Nothing. And we spent the weekend nervous the employee (who I am sure knew what condo we were in and had access to our vehicle info) was going to damage our property. Completely disgusted.
