"Enjoyable stay!"
July 2019
Family friendly place to stay while visiting the Williamsburg area! Lots of space for the price, and possibility to cook with the small kitchens. Walls are thin though, in case you get little ones next door like we did. Kids enjoyed the amenities, and definitely would stay again!

"Christmas Vacation"
December 2018
This was our first Christmas vacation at Powhatan Resort. We loved our cozy 2 bedroom condo. The restaurant/bar on site was amazing. We ventured out to see all the beautiful lights at Christmas Town that was near by. To top off our stay, we woke up to snow on our last day. As a mother it meant a lot to have my grown children with me for a weekend trip. This will now be a family tradition. I have already marked dates on my calendar for next year.

"Nice, but hidden costs."
June 2018
This hotel was very nice, the in-room laundry was a nice addition. Plenty of activities for the kids. They were a pushy with their time-share program. Their resort fee was more expensive than what was listed on my print out from Reserve Williamsburg.

Tip: skip the coserige table--that's where they get pushy about time shares and want all kinds of personal info. Check in was a long process.

We came to this resort to celebrate Thanksgiving with a son stationed at Ft. Eustis. It is a sprawling property with well kept grounds, numerous amenities, active security with hospitable staff and accommodations. Our group of 6 had plenty of room in the 2 bedroom first floor unit. The kitchen was adequately stocked for cooking and had it been warmer, we would have enjoyed the sunroom and patio space as well. Though the unit showed signed of wear and tear, it was spotlessly clean. Onsite and free for use are tennis, mini golf, indoor and seasonal outdoor pools, racquetball, and more. Our room was on the outskirts, but still walkable to all this. (Though probably not with small children). Activities and crafts, movies and scavenger hunts are planned daily. Coffee house and full dining are also onsite, though we didn’t try them out. Don’t miss a tour of the historical house! We attended an amazing living history presentation, just like Colonial Williamsburg. And if you want to go there or other local attractions, you’re only about 15 minutes away. Our group loved our stay and hope to return.

Very disappointed that you have tp pay an amenities fee after paying your maintenance fee at your home resort and paying RCI an exchange fee to stay here There is only one indoor and outdoor pool for the whole complex (444 units) and most outdoor grills require you to drive to them.

"Don’t get a ground floor unit "

Stayed here over Thanksgiving week to visit family. Travel party included 2 adults and 2 kids (infant and toddler). Had a one bedroom suite on the ground floor. Pros: A full kitchen with cookware and essentials was fantastic. I made breakfast every morning with ease. Beds were comfortable. The pull out sofa was easy to take in and out, and was not super high. Our toddler slept in it just fine. Washer / dryer in the unit was convenient (though it didn’t work well). The location could not be beat - we were close to shops, Busch Gardens, and an incredible playground (off grounds). There are no cribs but you can easily put a pack n play in the dining room with plenty of room to walk around it. Cons: The unit is outdated and half of the lights didn’t work properly. There was an all-weathered porch but the heat didn’t work at all. The washer / dryer were incredibly loud and the dryer barely worked. It took 2 full 90 minute cycles on high to wash a few kids shirts and pants. The WIFI is spotty. And the walls are very thin - despite the “quiet time” instituted by the resort, our neighbors were blasting music or movies all night long. The water in each faucet and the shower took a very long time to heat up and the shower pressure wasn’t very strong. And for some reason there were so many ants in the bathroom. The resort fee is $20 a night which felt like a waste to us since nothing on property was worth it. The outdoor pool was closed and the playground was so small. If you have kids, go to Kidsburg (just down the road). It’s a free public park and much better than the hotel one.

"Property was amazing! Do not recommend!"

This resort and location is amazing! Close to everything we wanted to do. The reason that I would not recommend it is because of the sales pitch. We were contacted to provide our opinions and recommendations. I told the woman that we were not interested in buying as we already have a timeshare. She assured me that it was not a sales pitch, just a survey. Well, it was the most intense sales pitch I ever saw! We were talked to by 5 people! I was very upfront about the fact that we were not interested but they didn't care. We were treated deplorably! The 2 hour survey turned into a 3 hour sales pitch. We were so frustrated that we left the next morning and headed home. So we forfeited 3 nights of our vacation.

This is our second stay and we love it just as much as we did the first time. The rooms are clean and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The only thing I wish is that the beds were a little more plush. They are very firm. Otherwise, we continue to be happy with the friendly service and accommodations at Powhatan Resort.
