"Enjoyable stay!"
July 2019
Family friendly place to stay while visiting the Williamsburg area! Lots of space for the price, and possibility to cook with the small kitchens. Walls are thin though, in case you get little ones next door like we did. Kids enjoyed the amenities, and definitely would stay again!

"Christmas Vacation"
December 2018
This was our first Christmas vacation at Powhatan Resort. We loved our cozy 2 bedroom condo. The restaurant/bar on site was amazing. We ventured out to see all the beautiful lights at Christmas Town that was near by. To top off our stay, we woke up to snow on our last day. As a mother it meant a lot to have my grown children with me for a weekend trip. This will now be a family tradition. I have already marked dates on my calendar for next year.

"Nice, but hidden costs."
June 2018
This hotel was very nice, the in-room laundry was a nice addition. Plenty of activities for the kids. They were a pushy with their time-share program. Their resort fee was more expensive than what was listed on my print out from Reserve Williamsburg.

Tip: skip the coserige table--that's where they get pushy about time shares and want all kinds of personal info. Check in was a long process.

Billed as a Histric Resort. Nothing special about the facilities. No horse and carrages, no bicycles, no shuttle services and yet ws required to pay nearly $200 in resort fees in additional to the high costs of the rooms.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this resort. A beautiful setting with carefully manicured grounds. Comfortably spread out and peaceful, with ponds full of Canada Geese. Close to town but set far enough back off the road so you’d never know it. Helpful staff, large fully equipped units, on site coffee shop, restaurant/bar, and a gorgeous historic manor house open to guests. We can’t wait to go back!

I really did not want to leave this review, but after a phone call I received from Diamond Resorts today, I decided enough already. To clarify: The Historic Powhatan Resort is a Diamond Resort property. My partner and I decided to spend a long weekend here on Valentine's Day and enjoy having some time alone from busy work schedules. When we arrived, we were told to meet with the concierge to receive our "Welcome Packet," which is really just a bunch of pamphlets you can pick up at a gas station. The reason for this is to coax you into signing up for a "presentation" 2 HOURS LONG in exchange for an offer they make you. In this case, it was $50 for dinner. When we said no, they went to $75. They also try to get you to book your next trip with Diamond Resorts at a "discounted rate" all BEFORE YOU EVEN GET TO YOUR ROOM. We hadn't even begun our getaway and they already wanted us to spend MORE money on them and book again? Really? It took us about 10 minutes for them to hand over the welcome package and let us go and stop trying to convince us. Then, the second night, we got a phone call. That call was to convince us AGAIN to stop by so they can make us an offer to book with their properties again. This time, we would not have to sit in a 2 hour presentation. Again, we said no. This same night, we tried to use the pool that they advertise, and were not allowed in!! We were told they had reached capacity and now had a wait. All other activities were also booked up. They told me to call in about an hour. I did - and again they told me that they could not guarantee that they would let us in. The woman even got an attitude with me when I asked how long she thought the wait would be. When we checked out on the 3rd day, they told us again that we had to check out with the concierge. Immediately, the same woman from the phone call starts trying to sell us another trip. I'm not sure at this point why I would ever book with them again, when I can't even enjoy the pool at their property. Today, almost 3 weeks after my trip, I've received 2 phone calls while I'm at work from a Diamond Resort representative trying to sell me a vacation AGAIN. When I told him *very nicely I might add* that I was not interest, he hung up the phone on me abruptly. Some customer service... The moment we walked out of the Powhatan office that day, my Partner turned to me and said that he NEVER wants to stay at one of these places again. We were extremely frustrated and disappointed. We felt harassed and cornered. I've never stayed at a resort where they solicit you over the phone in your rooms. It was all a waste of money, and we could not even enjoy the amenities.

I love Williamsburg and what a treat to stay at the Powhatan Resort! The customer service was excellent. The activities were amazing ( mini golf, arts and crafts and swimming). We stayed in a townhouse. We were told that our rooms were updated however, we did not get the latest updated rooms. So there was a question about "trust" from the check in staff. However, our place was clean and we had an amazing view of the pond! You would love your stay at The Historic Powhatan Resort. Our family will be back in May of 2020.

Overall very good -- nice property and amenities. Skip The Grill for anything other than breakfast. Check-in was so bad I felt like I was being tortured. After that, the experience was excellent. 2 bedroom units are spacious and the kitchen was well-equipped.
