Staying at the Hilton was definitely the highlight of my business trip. The staff was great, the property has all the amenities and the restaurant and bars were perfect. I would highly recommend this location if ever in and/or around the San Diego area!

"Dirty, run down, tired property"

Avoid at all costs. I'm a hilton honors gold member and this is the worst Hilton property I've stayed at. We were given a queen "villa" - yet we had connecting rooms on either side of us that we could clearly hear through very thin doors. Doesn't sound so much like a villa but just a regular hotel room. A family was next to us and we could hear their kids screaming at the top of their lungs. Calls to front desk can't stop a kid from screaming. We could hear even their normal conversations - which obviously means they can hear us as well. Not what you expect when you pay the ridiculous rates this place charges. Additionally, the building where our room was located had a moldy/musty smell. I didn't see any leaking but there must be serious water issues in the building for it to smell like that the entire time we were there. There was a hole in the ceiling in our "recently renovated" bathroom. Carpet was dirty. Outdoor patio looked tired and not well-maintained. Just overall very poor value for what you pay to stay at this property. The one star I'm willing to give this place is for the pool and service at the pool. The staff there was always coming around to see if we needed anything. Be careful to check out what "activities" they have going on too. They had a DJ at the pool one day that was blasting essentially wedding songs all afternoon ("Aint no mountain high enough", etc. etc.) which made it impossible to relax or read a book. I will never stay here again. If you are a family, this might work for you but there is undoubtedly better value for your money elsewhere. If you are a couple, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We live in la Mesa and like to stay down at the beach area when we air bnb our place or just want some beach time. Nice property not overly nice paint and finishes are worn but it had a nice homey feel and the rooms were nice and comfortable. The pool was nice nothing special but the kids had a blast and the food and drinks were good. If you can get a good price it’s worth it for the location alone just out of the main feat of all the beach craziness but close enough to access it all

"4th of July!"

The hotel room was newly remodeled. The room, which we didn't spend much time in had a 75-inch TV. We spent most of our time at the beach which was walking distance for my family. We spent seven hours at the hotel swimming pool and ate lunch by the pool. Later that night we watched a movie projected onto a big screen while the kids floated on inner tubes. We felt everything was clean, the food was great, the service was excellent, we would go again. We spent one day at SeaWorld, which was 10 minute drive or less. The hotel is right in the middle of everything that you want to see and do.

"Perfect Location, Great Family Destination"

My wife and children were in San Diego on vacation and we had the pleasure of staying at the San Diego Resort and Spa. After our experience there we would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the San Diego area, for any reason, but especially if traveling with children. The location is perfect, just 10-15 minutes from any of San Diego's major attractions, and that's only if you feel the need to leave the resort. There is so much to do at the hotel that I'd recommend just taking a day or two to experience the resort and relax. Perfect place!
