Are you brave enough to survive our gauntlets of Halloween haunts? Prepare yourself as dark forces are unleashed to make your wildest nightmares come true. You'll encounter evil creatures everywhere, waiting for you in the fog. If you're too scared to explore our haunts, challenge yourself to a night ride on The Beast, Banshee, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers and other thrill-inducing attractions.

WARNING! This event is too intense for young children. Parental discretion is advised. Park turns scary at 7PM.

For daytime Halloween fun with no fear, the park holds The Great Pumpkin Fest in Planet Snoopy. The Great Pumpkin Fest is all treats and no tricks when it comes to family-friendly fun including live entertainment, mazes, trick-or-treating and so much more! Guests of all ages will enjoy our Halloween-themed festivities, sure to make memories that will last a lifetime. The Great Pumpkin Fest is held Saturdays and Sundays from September 22 through October 27 from 12pm to 7pm.

Frequently Asked Questions about Halloween Haunt at Kings Island

Is parking provided? If so, what is the fee? 
Parking is $17 per vehicle for regular parking and $27 for preferred when purchased in advance online. A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available near the Front Gate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are stroller/wheelchair/locker/etc. rentals available? If so, what is the fee? 
A limited number of wheelchairs and electronic convenience vehicles (ECV) are available for rental at the Rental Center on the left just inside the Front Gate. However, since wheelchairs and ECVs are rented on a first-come, first-served basis, we urge guests to bring their own wheelchair. Lockers are available for rent in different areas of the main park and in Soak City. The park is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Can I bring my camera? 
Yes, For safety reasons, we cannot permit on-ride photography of any kind on any ride other than the Eiffel Tower and the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad.

Can I bring my own food/beverages? Coolers permitted? 
No outside food, beverages or coolers are allowed to be brought into Kings Island or the Soak City Waterpark. Exceptions are made for Guests with special dietary needs to include food allergies and baby food and formula. Guests with special dietary needs should stop at Guest Services located at the Front Gate when they arrive at the Park.

Can I bring my pet? 
Only service animals are permitted in the park. Kings Island does not have pet care facilities on site.

What happens if it rains during my visit? 
Some attractions may close in inclement weather until conditions permit safe operation. Please enjoy a live show, meal or shopping until such weather passes. Kings Island cannot issue rain checks or refunds for inclement weather.

What is the policy on alcoholic beverages at Kings Island?
Guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages at Kings Island. Valid State issued identification or valid driver's license is required upon each person purchasing, possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted while in line for any ride. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought into Kings Island from any outside source or in any type of container.

Is smoking permitted in the park?
For the convenience of all our guests, smoking of any kind, including vapor and e-cigarettes, is allowed only in designated smoking areas. Please refer to our map for specific locations. Smoking and vaping is not permitted in any store, theater, ride line or waiting area, ticket line, food line and any indoor or outdoor restaurant seating area.

Can I wear a costume of face paint into the park? 
Children age 12 and under can wear costumes, masks and/or face paint when visiting Kings Island during our Halloween event as long as it does not hide a ticket/passholder's identity. If there is any question about a ticket/passholder's identity, Kings Island reserves the right to ask that the mask and/or face paint to be removed. Adults are permitted to wear costumes on Sundays during The Great Pumpkin Fest operating dates.

The guidelines are as follows:

  • Costumes must be family friendly.
  • Costumes cannot be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent in nature.
  • Obscene language or graphics are not allowed.
  • Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment are not allowed.
  • Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground.
  • Capes are allowed, but the length cannot pass the waist.
  • No masks (for guests 13 and under, masks are okay as long as they do not cover the entire face and the eyes are visible).
  • Hats and other headwear are okay, as long as they do not cover the face.
  • No weapons.
  • No sharp or pointed objects, or materials that could accidentally strike other guests.
  • Nothing overtly gory (the same guideline that applies to the park décor items).
  • Layered costumes, or costumes that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged.
  • Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times.
Note: Kings Island reserves the right to deny admission to, or remove, any person wearing attire that is inappropriate or could detract from the experience of other guests.
