Description

from Haleo Luau
Island Breeze Productions presents Haleo each Monday and Friday evening in the incomparable oceanfront setting at Sheraton Keauhou Bay's Bay View Lawn.

Haleo, the “voice of life,” celebrates the history of Keauhou and the heart of those who came from this land. The talented dancers and musicians of Island Breeze Productions invite you to join them on a journey to the past and experience a special time in Hawaiian history.

Held on the oceanfront of the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa, this luau brings you back to a time that is remembered and cherished. From the birth of Kamehameha III to surfing tales of He’eia Bay to the battle of Kuamo’o, performers share the stories of ancient Hawaii through language, culture, music, and dance. Keauhou translated into English means “new era.” The area is significant for being the playground of Hawaii’s royalty, ali’i.

Meet the dancers before the show and “talk story.” Enjoy live dinner music under the Hala trees on the southern shores of Keauhou Bay and indulge in a Hawaiian feast that’s so unique it can only be found in paradise.

Hale Luau was the best luau of choice. Food, historical background info, and entertainment, proved top notch. Could not have asked for a more perfect authentic experience, even for kamaaina. Mahalo!

Every Luau says they are the best. I read reviews on them all and decided on the Luau at the Sheraton Resort in Kona since we were staying there and the reviews were great! Not disappointed. My 2 daughters weren't too excited when I told them we were going to a luau but quickly changed their minds once we got there. Hawaii weather was great, food was fantastic, setting was great and the entertainment was a 10+. A must to see when you are on the Big Island.

"Great food and good show, seating challenging"

Loved this luau, however, the one issue that pulled down my rating was the seating. We did arrive towards the end of the check in period and were seated in one of the farthest back tables. Totally understandable since we weren’t the first there. However, the back of the seating area is on a descent causing us to actually be lower than the tables in front of us and thus providing a more challenging view of the show. That obstacle coupled with the random jokers that decided to stand in front of you really hindered the enjoyment. The food and quality of the entertainment was top notch. The story they told throughout was awesome.

"Nice location, good entertainment and food"

We have been to several luau’s over the years so it was nice to see a slightly different show. We bought the Ali package that gave us up front seating and first in line for food. Honestly the layout in the lawn appeared to offer good view for everyone as it was nice to have the stage up maybe 4 ft from the ground. They also offered up front lawn mats for the kids for the show. Photos to purchase for $20 taken upon arrival of couple or group. The speaker was pleasant and easy to understand and did a great job of presenting and teaching about each event of the show dancers. Fire dance at end was great!!! Free drinks at bar until 7pm, pitcher of water at table plus mai tai or punch upon arrival. Food was good, buffet style with med size rectangle wood plates and several choices of food. 4 Desserts were also offered. Menu available online. Glad we went!

"Excellent show .. food was good as well"

Go for the show and expect a decent meal. The food was actually not bad, they had all the traditional favorites and LOTS of it! We really went for the show and was NOT disappointing. The narrator was knowledgeable, funny and warm. The dancers were top notch but the spectacular ending with the fire dancer was the best. I would highly recommend. We have attended three other Luau's one in Maui, Oahu and Kauai.. this by far was the best for food and show. I would come back. Our 4 year old was able to sit and watch from the grass which made it nice as he could run around. We did not purchase the upgrade and still had wonderful seats.

The luau started with us being able to purchase flower laies so bring cash we were not told about that. It was at our hotel so we thought for the convince it would be worth it so we could have a few drinks and walk home. Drinks were not good, food was okay. Our boys ages 9 and 10 loved the final act. The narrator was the best part of the entire experience. Very authentic and beautiful. The entire process seemed very gimmicky. Heard from our friends the Royal Kona Luau was much better had a pig brought up from the ground very authentic and wonderful.

It was a great evening with great food (buffet) all you could eat as well as open bar with some fantastic drinks. The music and entertainment was awesome and would recommend taking in this show. The only disappointment of the night was that it was raining and instead of it being on the beach it was held indoors.
