"Quiet and Accommodating"

Our stay at the Grand Smokies Resort was pleasant. The in-room jacuzzi was nice, and the water was very hot. The king-size bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The hotel could definitely use a major cleaning. The exterior is dirty. The room itself was acceptable as far as cleanliness.

We absolutely love staying at this hotel we plan on staying there again we've actually started saving for next trip the hotel staff was extremely nice very courteous the rooms were impeccably clean and the maid service was extremely thorough I couldn't find it dirt anywhere the hotel's location was in a great spot as well it was right in the heart of Pigeon Forge within walking distance of the islands and several shopping complexes as well as it had an amazing restaurant in the same parking lot and a Cracker Barrel right across the street me and my husband are both smokers and they actually have a smoking section in the hotel so people don't have to linger outside at their cars it's very nice I really enjoyed my stay and my husband was actually impressed with the hotel which says a lot cuz it takes a lot to impress him overall I would give this hotel 9 out of 10 the only reason why I would give it a nine there not a pet-friendly Hotel

"Not Horrible"
May 2018
We checked into our room and opened out the pull out bed that our toddler son was going to sleep in and found dirty clothes. After going to the front desk we were moved to another room on the same floor. While this room was cleaner then the previous room it was outdated and could definitely use some TLC and updates. There were two microwaves in the room, apparently because the over the range one was not working. We didn't try using the other one. We actually only used the frig in our room and none of the other appliances. The shower/tub didnt have a drain plug so we ended up just giving our toddler sponge bathes and washed his hair with a plastic cup, but probably wouldn't have wanted him sitting in the tub anyways. The bed was supposed to be a queen but was actually a double and not very comfortable. The mattress on the pull out was very thin, but didn't seem to bother our toddler (I don't think a larger kid would have been comfortable sleeping on it.)

The indoor pool was AWESOME and it has a water slide. The Wood Grill Buffet outside of the lodge was very good (only had breakfast there) and it was reasonably priced. The location is great for attractions just a short drive to everything, and a trolley stop right outside.

Overall this place could use a little updating, but it was decent for the price. We would stay again

We have been here two times in the past. On this trip I was very dissapointed with the condition of the room. The carpet was stained and needed a deep cleaning. The faucet in the bathroom drip all the time. The shower curtain smelled so bad of mildew. The remote for the tv was held the batteries in with black tape. The tv reception would not stay in. The seal on the micro fridge was bad and you could see where it had leaked on the carpet.

Room was fine. Clean, maybe a little dated, but all we really needed was a place to shower and sleep. The morning staff was friendly and welcoming while the evening staff acted as if we were a bother if we needed something. Half of our party were smokers. We liked the little outdoor area for smoking but were pretty irritated that if they caught you smoking on your balcony OUTSIDE they would charge you a $250 fee. We have an annual girls weekend and will probably not book again next year.

"Dirty"

We have been coming here since my children were quite young. They’re both grown adults now. We’ve seen this establishment go through several name changes over the years, too, but we’ve remained loyal customers to the business; mainly because they’ve been clean and courteous. We had one of the worst experiences we’ve ever encountered this past week staying there. 1. We should have never been allowed to check in the room in the condition it was in. The bathroom was in deplorable condition. The floor was dirty. We took 2 separate towels, ourselves, to clean up the mess. Around the toilet was filthy. The musty smell was terrible. The bottom of the beds (box spring) were dirty.) Under the sheet, it was covered in hair. The carpet was dirty. The air conditioner didn’t work properly, either. We complained the morning after we checked in... they said they were going to send a house keeper to the room, but they never did. When I told the woman at the desk all this at check-out, she copped an attitude with me. Whenever I told her she was rude, that she should not speak to a LONG time customer that way, the other employee spoke up as she did, both becoming rude- telling me she wasn’t rude. No one wants to leave the comfort of home, spend money to stay somewhere else and have to stay in a mess like that, then be spoken to like that, especially when we’ve been staying there for years. We even had hair on our “clean” towels when we tried to dry off after we took a shower.

I’ve stayed here numerous times over the past several years with most recent being from July 31-August 4. The housekeeping staff are super nice and courteous and do their job well. Large rooms, 3 large pools, and very convenient location. Like most PF hotels it is starting to run down a bit with carpet stains, peeling paint, outdoor hot tub area has a piece of plywood over it. Great rate during week but it increases drastically on Friday/Saturday nights which is rediculous. Maintenance is heard nearly every night/morning while you’re trying to sleep talking on walky talkys which is also ridiculous. No breakfast only a one dollar off coupon for the restaurant next door. Nothing to complain to management about for me. Overall a good place to stay with plenty of parking. We really enjoyed this trip and will stay here again.
