from Grand Circle Island Tour - Hawaii Island
This daylong adventure is the perfect showcase for the Big Island’s most unique sights and locations. It’s a great way to explore this fascinating place.

There will be a stop at Royal Kona Coffee in the midst of the coffee-growing region. It’s a remarkable place of organic beauty. The lush coffee bean trees seem to spring up among the other island foliage. The area also overlooks Kealakekua Bay, offering spectacular views of its pristine waters.

Then visit lava fields where various shades of solidified lava reveal the entire island’s past volcanic activity. You’ll actually be able to see a distinct dividing line where the lava fields end and the lush farmland begins. While you enjoy the changing landscape, you’ll want to prepare yourself for a visit to the nearby is Punaluu Beach, the amazing black sand beach where sea turtles often nest.

Next, you’ll be on your way to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. You’ll begin at the Kilauea Visitor Center and Volcano House. Be on the lookout for the active, smoldering crater nearby. Active volcanoes are still present and continuing to add to the landscape of dried lava flow. Here is also where you’ll find Mauna Loa, the world’s largest volcano, and Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano. If the conditions are safe, you’ll actually circle a crater when you ride along Crater Rim Drive.

This was an enjoyable stay cut short by a health issue. The rooms are neat, clean, nicely decorated, and in good repair. There is no one on-site though check-in was easily arranged by phone and went smoothly. It is located one block from one of the best snorkeling beaches on the Big Island, Kahalu'u Beach Park. Unfortunately, there are no ocean view rooms. Two minor glitches were no soap in the bathroom and only one towel. Otherwise, all went well.

"Chad is the best!"

The stay at the hotel was ok - but CHAD was amazing! Very personable and willing to help in any way! He was awesome! Great location and close the beach and snorkelling. NO AC though - so be wary of when you travel there.

Booked this place on the previous wonderful reviews! Things have changed - there is no Gigi anymore. Room ok but so hot when we arrived we almost left straight away. There was nowhere to hang wet beach gear and “provisions” mentioned in previous reviews non-existant, not even toiletries. At least the beach hadn’t moved so snorkelling was great.

"booking contacts / cancellation attempts - beware of being ignored!!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

I booked this hotel on 5/3/19 through their website. Our travel plans changed and I have needed to cancel. The confirmation sheet I was sent stated that I have 60 days prior to arriving to cancel without penalty. I was charged $250 as a deposit payment. I emailed the website provided on my confirmation sheet on 5/9/19 requesting a cancellation and got not response. I emailed again on 5/20/19 again requesting cancellation. There has no response. Then I called the phone number listed on the confirmation sheet that i was provided with 1-808-938-7988. The phone was immediately answered by an answering machine telling me to leave a message. But then said---no mailbox has ever been set up!! So leaving a message isn't even an option!!! i have called this number 10X with the same outcome. No one answers. I began searching for another way to contact them and found a different phone number listed on TripAdvisor. 1-808-427-1188. I called this number at 4:43pm Hawaii time on 5/21/19. I was able to leave a message and received a call back at 5:11pm asking what I needed because they had missed a call. I asked for a name and was told I was talking to St, Chad. When I explained my predicament and my fear of losing my deposit, I was told i needed to go thru the website. I explained I have already done this!! He told me he would call me back. Nothing!! I called again today and left a message with all my information. Still no response!! I am writing this review in hopes of getting some response and my money back plus as a warning to others that they better not want to get ahold of anyone..... i think you cease to be important once you have paid!!!

"Great location, nice stay"

Management recently changed over. A lot of reviews focused on how friendly and hospitable manager was. We did not experience this. Took quite a while to locate the manager to check in. Met a few guests that experienced the same challenges. Accommodations are overall adequate. Stayed in the pineapple room. A bit odd that kitchen sink is also the bathroom sink. Bed was comfortable. No AC but not an issue for us as it was cool enough with the fan on. Nice that you can walk to the beach and snorkel. Probably will try another location next time, but this place is nice. Just not sure if it’s going for a hotel or bnb vibe. Felt more like vrbo.
