"Awesome weekend getaway!"
June 2019
It was a great Memorial Day weekend visiting and staying at Gaylord Palms! The Florida themed atrium gardens gave a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. We stayed on an 8th floor room with Florida view and the sound of the waterfalls made us feel like we are in a rainforest.

I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but after being on lock down for 4 months we were looking forward to going to the Gaylord for the weekend. I had called to obtain all their safety protocols prior to booking. When we arrived in our room there were dirty napkins thrown on the floor, the refrigerator had dirty bottles. We had to leave the room for house keeping to clean. At the pool we were assigned an area, again ours was dirty and had bags on top of them. The following days we had new assignments at the pool, they were chairs and when I requested an umbrella and lawn chair to lay my baby down I was told I had to pay $20 per chair. So why are we paying a resort fee?!?!?! The elevator in our building had only 1 functioning elevator, so it would take 15-20 mins to get down. We couldn’t take the stairs because of the baby stroller. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Specially being a Marriott member!!!

Full disclosure- I am a Hilton lover My SIL invites us for the night for a sports tournament. We decide, they have a great pool, fun for los niños, let’s go. Check in- terrible- no recognition of my elite status, no room upgrade, 4x I had to return to the check in desk, Bimi rude and argumentative. When the hotel system in Orlando is in need, you would think people visiting would be treated extra special/ nope. Think again. Your elite status, complimentary upgrade, sorry. Hotel- valet a complete s*it show! Lots around when you pull up, but everyone disappears when you need them! Do NOT think about self parking with out downloading you luggage, there will be no carts available for you to do it yourself. You would THINK that 1 of the 4x I had to go see the front desk lady, I would know this information. Nope. Temp checks? No! Masks 1/2 way down noses and empty hands santitizers everywhere. Sanitation in high traffic areas, nope Shame Not how we are going to be successful with thecovid efforts here at Gaylord smh This place is huge You will get lost Pool check in to get towels and assigned seating- this is amazing. I am not sure if this is corona times or all times. But it should be all times! No lifeguards. No social distancing at the pool and if this is 50% capacity.. no way would I come here when they are fully operational! Food poolside was good Drinks poolside good Kids had fun in flow rider, but some group with 3, our group had 7, which means less time per person for $25/30 minutes Pool is the only + here Oh and if you like to waste a LOT of $, go to their ICE

So the hotel is average at best. Your paying for the amenities, the scenic views and water park. The rooms are sub par at best so disappointed for a Marriott Hotel. However, service @ the pool area superb. Jack the manger took care of me and my sonThomas. I had some Cabana issues and some other things came up out of Jacks control but he was the consummate Manger and made it all good. Job well done! Other than that I wouldn’t waste my money unless u have children like mine who love the water! The 20foot slide is a hit and the pool area is everything so take your chance and see! Oh and if you get a Florida room u will be looking at the parking lot yes the parking lot. Smh

"Bad customer service"

Although this hotel is very beautiful, one of the things that talk more about the quality of a hotel is the customer service experience and this hotel lack plenty of it. I believe the customer service of this hotel is very inflexible and lacks professionalism. This hotel was booked for the 26th anniversary of a couple and normally in a hotel this category they make couples that are celebrating a special occasion feel special and even send complimentary things because of the occasion. The hotel was very inflexible in that sense. The hotel is not cheap and clients normally expect more for their money. Very beautiful but Never Again.
