"Awesome weekend getaway!"
June 2019
It was a great Memorial Day weekend visiting and staying at Gaylord Palms! The Florida themed atrium gardens gave a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. We stayed on an 8th floor room with Florida view and the sound of the waterfalls made us feel like we are in a rainforest.

The Gaylord was hosting our work event, so we stayed on property and ate most of our meals there! I got a very nice upgrade to a suite with a living/dining room - thank you! The suite was very comfortable and spacious, and the balcony overlooked the sailboat restaurant. So nice! The food was very good - we ate at the sports bar, the outdoor restaurant that's poolside, and the main lobby bar. All were tasty with good-sized portions. It helped that someone else was paying! One morning, I lounged poolside with my laptop drinking my Starbucks - a mini-vacation. Lovely swaying palm trees and a nice humid Florida breeze - very welcome in mid-February!

"Immense area to visit, try for a two or three stay to see everything when staying there."

Hotel is spotless, restaurants all are fabulous. If you have time try and stay for at two or three additional days just to go around the area. Disney, Universal Orlando, and Seaworld are just a few of the exciting things to do while there.

Spent a week here for a national sales meeting. Accommodations were average for the area. The staff was excellent. Guest rooms were a little dated and needed some attention ( my room anyway). Typical resort prices for consumer goods. Food was ok too.

"Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, a few management related issues"

We got an atrium view room! This hotel is absolutely beautiful and so fun for the kids. They had indoor koi ponds and baby alligators. This was within a good distance to Disney and offered shuttle services. You have to pay for parking or valet so keep that in mind while budgeting. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were good at the main bar next to the lobby. I will note that the yogurt in the cafe was expired, I informed the lady running the starbucks cafe and she discarded them promptly. The first night we got in it was late so we went to the sports bar on site. Our server was weeded and I never once saw a manager on the floor until we were about to leave and I witnessed guests just walk out. We were there roughly two hours. I asked the server if the manager was understaffed and working in the kitchen or sitting on their butt. They advised she hadn't left the office the whole time. (This was my suspicion being a Restaurant GM myself.) We finished our meals, tipped well, and left. Our server was busting their butt and so was the bartender! They needed more bodies on the floor though. The woman we had at the front desk was one of the sweetest women I've encountered in the customer service industry, I can't recall her name but she was from Guyana and great with kids! The room service we ordered was delicious and overall the views and food around the hotel was pretty good. Just a few instances that I mentioned where I think they can improve.

"Not worth the money / Improper Billing"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

We stayed here 2 nights for an anniversary. Hotel is overpriced. Nice place & clean but just not worth the $. In addition, when checking my bill I was improperly charged $52 for valet, which was NEVER USED. I paid $26 per day for self park, which is BS for the amount you pay for room plus all the fees.
