"Stay Somewhere Else if You Desire A/C"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Checked in over the weekend for a one night stay. Once I got to the room, I noticed it was quite warm. I located the A/C thermostat on the wall and saw the room was 77 degrees despite the thermostat being set to 70 degrees. It was a hot weekend in Orange County, so I was really trying to be patient and allow the A/C, which was a physically large unit at the window, to do its job. But, after 30 minutes of not very cool air coming from the unit, I advised the front desk the A/C appeared to be broken and asked to move rooms. I then moved to a new room and noticed the same issue. The wall thermostat was set to 69 degrees but the room temperature was 76 degrees. So, thinking this cannot be a coincidence, I called the front desk and asked if they limit the A/C to a certain temperature despite what the wall thermostat is set to. Sure enough, they advised me that they limit the A/C to a floor of 75 degrees. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? First off, that is completely ridiculous. Second, why is there no sign on the wall thermostat advising you that the A/C will not go any cooler than 75 degrees? I am paying well over $100 per night for a very small room, and I should be allowed (do you hear that Marriott???) to cool the room down to whatever temperature I desire. An artificial cap at a warm 75 degrees is absurd. I will not be staying here, or any other Fairfield Inn, again.

"Quick Resolution"

On my visit of August 12th,2019; was on a family vacation with our toddler for the first time. We had a very late flight into the Fairfield Hotel; and were with a very loud obnoxious neighboring individual. None of us were able to sleep until 3am due to the amount of noise and loudness of it. After speaking with Front desk manager Jecks De La Cruz regarding the situation. He was able to immediately resolve the situation and accommodate us for the remainder of our stay. Jecks made the remaining of our vacation a time to remember. I recommend this place & would definitely stay here again!

As a Marriott gold member I was given the room facing the elevator, very noisy throughout the day. Everything is clean in the room, except that we found a beer bottle cap left on the floor. Breakfast is great, plenty of seats for guests in the early morning. They serve scrambled egg, cheese omelette, veggie/regular sausage and waffle.

"Not Very Good"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed July 21, 2019
I’ve stayed at several Fairfield’s before, so I thought nothing of booking a room at this one. However, this experience was not like the others. The room, and the hotel in general, overall were acceptable, but there were a few details that will keep me away from this particular property in the future. The biggest issue we had was with the electrical outlets in the room - not enough of them (only two available when lamps were plugged in), and they were in odd places. There were no outlets that we could get to anywhere near the bed or the desk - the only ones were at the sink (just outside the bathroom) and on the far opposite wall, way too far away from the bed for a charging cable to reach. Very clunky in this age of digital devices, but I also realize it’s an older building and electrical outlets may not be very easy things to move or (especially) add to rooms. We also had an issue with the bath tub not draining properly - when the shower was on for several minutes, the water level in the tub would rise to nearly an inch. I reported it twice during our week-long stay and it was never fixed; the second time, apparently the fix was supposed to be removing the stopper entirely, but that didn’t do the trick. (I mentioned it a third time upon checkout and all I got was an apology and a promise to have it looked at again.) One other thing about this property is the elevator. Oh, the elevator. It’s slow, noisy, and downright scary. One was worse than the other, but every time we got on, we weren’t sure if we’d be getting off! In addition, the air conditioner is noisy, the walls are pretty paper-thin (could hear everything next door and in the hallway), the gate to the pool was broken, and we had a housekeeping employee knock on our door at 8:30 am one day, even though the DND sign was out (fortunately we were awake). All-in-all, not the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had, but definitely on the lower end of the scale. With so many choices in the area, I’ll look for a different place next time.
