"Would not recommend"
February 2019
Booked on Third Party site: Reserve Pigeon Forge, called them before booking on the site to make sure the price was the best price. Told the person who answered the phone that the main reason we are booking their Motel was because of the indoor pool and the breakfast. When we arrived, the person who checked us in, told us the pool was out of service. I told her that was the main reason why we booked their Motel. I decided to at least look at the room. We get in the room and there was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom, the sink handle would come off in your hand and the refrigerator door would not close, if there was any weight in the refrigerator. We ask the front desk to have maintenance come and give us a toilet paper holder. When they got to the room, they told us the front desk should have told us that their our sites will allow us to swim at their indoor pools. I am not usually one to complain about my stay at a motel, but this place was not cheap, we called them and they never said anything about the pool being under renovations, the attendant never told us about being able to swim at other sites and this was just all around a very poor experience. I would not recommend this motel at all!!!!! If you want to be screwed and not told about issues at your motel you're stay at, then go ahead and stay at Econo Lodge Riverside.

We are staying at the newly renovated Econo Lodge . They did a wonderful job. The room is very comfortable and clean. The staff very nice and efficient. The free full breakfast is terrific. It would cost around $25 in a restaurant. It is located near all the local attractions. You can relax from a busy day at the beautiful indoor pool. The price of our room was reasonable. The photos on their website are true to what we found on our arrival. Great place when visiting the beautiful Skokie Mtns.

The friendly and helpful people at the front desk add to the pleasure to staying at this motel that has well appointed clean rooms. Our room had two closets, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, and table. There is a large indoor pool in a nice indoor area. The location is great...lots of attractions, stores, and restaurants nearby. They could do their breakfast a little better. The three hot entrees are sausage, yellow stuff that's supposed to be eggs, and gravy and biscuits. No waffle iron...they serve defrosted frozen waffles that one heats up in the toaster. The butter/margarine they offer for toast tastes terrible! Other offerings are motel typical...cereals, breads, and yogurt. There is a laundry room and a small game room. The hotel is next to a creek frequented by geese which are a favorite for guests to feed.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Our room was exactly what we needed and it was very clean. Check in was quick and easy and everyone was super friendly and helpful. I can honestly say this is the first time we have had more towels than we needed. At most other hotels we have to ask for more towels but they were plentiful here. The beds were comfortable and the only problem we had was that the outside light on the walkway came into the room from the side of the curtain and we were able to resolve this issue by leaning an extra pillow against the curtain to keep out the light. I have seen that so many people have complained about the bird poop along the river walk. It wasn't as bad as they have let on. I mean just walk around it...jeeze. My family really enjoyed the birds and being able to feed them using the corn you could buy from the feeders. It was beautiful and fun to watch. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub also. It was never over crowded.

Upon check in I discovered I had accidentally chosen a handicap room when I booked online. Front desk said we could keep it. Upon entering I realized no bathtub. Since I greatly prefer a tub, I approached the desk and asked if we could possibly change rooms. The lady was extremely nice and understanding. She immediately checked and said sure. I apologized but she was so gracious that it didn't seem necessary. One night I needed a plastic spoon and inquired at the front desk, the gentleman exceeded my expectations by producing several spoons, forks, and even threw in a couple Styrofoam bowls. Wow! Front desk service was excellent! The rooms were adequate. Ours was clean. We found it easy to get on the parkway due to stop light nearby. We turned south and was able to make u-turn before the light on the opposite side changed. I assume it's set that way and was super convenient. The ducks are fun to watch and there are a lot of them. The premises were well lit. Layout was slightly confusing at first because the buildings are 'stacked' behind each other but only took a few minutes to orient. Breakfast was same everyday but plentiful. Four outside tables also available for breakfast dining. I was never awakened by noise from the parkway or other guests.

"Sufficient, comfortable, clean, affordable"

We traveled to the Pigeon Forge area and wanted a clean, affordable hotel and ended up choosing Econolodge. Check-in was quick and easy...very friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was definitely filling - eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, cereal, waffles, muffins...more fruit/healthy options would have been nice though. It was very carb-heavy. My biggest complaint and main reason for not giving this hotel 5 stars is the cleanliness of the riverwalk. The photo on the website shows a beautiful riverwalk with benches and nice views...but never mentions all the geese and geese poop. There are 3 geese food stalls along this riverwalk and so there were tons of geese hanging around all day. Poop was everywhere. We went down to the river to have a nice walk and just went back to the room, it was that bad. Just remove those food stalls! It would improve that riverwalk so much. If you are booking this hotel based on the riverwalk picture, just beware that the riverwalk does not look like the picture...it's full of geese and poop.
