Booked on Third Party site: Reserve Pigeon Forge, called them before booking on the site to make sure the price was the best price. Told the person who answered the phone that the main reason we are booking their Motel was because of the indoor pool and the breakfast. When we arrived, the person who checked us in, told us the pool was out of service. I told her that was the main reason why we booked their Motel. I decided to at least look at the room. We get in the room and there was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom, the sink handle would come off in your hand and the refrigerator door would not close, if there was any weight in the refrigerator. We ask the front desk to have maintenance come and give us a toilet paper holder. When they got to the room, they told us the front desk should have told us that their our sites will allow us to swim at their indoor pools. I am not usually one to complain about my stay at a motel, but this place was not cheap, we called them and they never said anything about the pool being under renovations, the attendant never told us about being able to swim at other sites and this was just all around a very poor experience. I would not recommend this motel at all!!!!! If you want to be screwed and not told about issues at your motel you're stay at, then go ahead and stay at Econo Lodge Riverside.

We checked into the hotel on 9/17/2020 for a trip. I have stayed here many times before and have always found the accommodations to be nice and the customer service decent. This trip was a lot different sadly. First and foremost, the bathroom sink and shower would not drain. I called and spoke to the front desk right after check in and explained this and was told maintenance would fix it ASAP. When we returned that evening still no drainage. In fact the water was still standing in the sink. So needless to say, no showers and no real way to wash your hands. Secondly, and the most frustrating is that I called two weeks before arrival to speak to the Desk manager, who was a lady named Aftin. I called to inform her I would have an 18’ trailer behind my truck and it would be with me for the duration of my stay. I’ve hauled this same trailer multiple times before and have always parked out of the way in the hotel parking lot and it has never been an issue. I was informed by Aftin that because of the car show in town no one was allowed to park any kind of trailer for this time frame on hotel property. I explained to her this was difficult for us and asked for any exceptions and she said under no circumstances did they allow trailers to be parked at the hotel. So, I found and had to pay for trailer storage elsewhere. Meanwhile, on check in day, 9/17/2020 there were 6 trailers parked in the hotel lot upon my arrival. One trailer was large enough it took up more than 2 parking spaces. I again asked the manager, Aftin why there were trailers in the lot when I was strictly told it was against hotel policy. She informed me they would be moved that day and that the hotel did not allow it and any remaining trailers would be towed out. I called that evening and asked again and was told the same thing. So, to my surprise all 6 trailers, plus 2 more were there the next day, on 9/18/2020. Obviously at this point, between the water issues and trailers, I was mad and asked for an early check out and I did not stay my second night. The part that really is sad is when I went to check out, Aftin was the front desk clerk who refunded me for the unused night, and never once did she ask how my stay was, any problems, nothing. She simply said drop your keys in this bucket and goodbye. I have been in property management before and when you have a maintenance issue, you fix it if possible, and when you have a no exceptions policy, you stick to it. It’s definitely discrimination to single out one and just turn a blind eye to others. At this point we probably won’t be staying at Econolodge Riverside again. The cleanliness, maintenance, and downright discrimination is a very sad thing to happen to such a nice hotel.

With COVID affecting everyone's trips this year, I wasn't sure what to expect. The first night we arrived late and had a room different than what I thought I had reserved from website. The staff was accommodating to switch rooms to a preferred room the next day. Housekeeping came everyday to restock linens. The hot tub and indoor pool were both in use and not too crowded as I had expected once I was aware they were accessible. The grounds were clean and parking lots were well lit. Noise was to a minimum unless you count the geese in the morning, but they weren't too bad. I did hear the ice machine during the first night as it was located outside the room we first stayed in but after relocating to different room, the only noise I was aware of was the garbage truck picking up the dumpster early one morning. I enjoyed having the river so close and being able to sit out every night. The fire pit was nice to enjoy. The staff was so nice and welcoming and we hated to leave and go home. This was definitely one of the best places to stay in Pigeon Forge we noticed after reviewing places up and down the strip and looking at websites when making reservations. We will definitely recommend to others and plan to come back.

The genuine Southern hospitality of "most" of the staff was appreciated. Aftin, in particular, was genuinely friendly and went over and above to make her guests feel special. I noticed it when dealing with her myself, and when she was with others. I never met Tricia (?), but spoke with her by phone prior to my stay. She was incredibly helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed the plank flooring in my first room as opposed to the carpet of my second room. I'm not a fan of carpet, although it had just been cleaned. I also appreciated that they had some form of breakfast options as some locations no longer provided any option. I don't think I've ever checked into a hotel room that was accessible from the outside, as I don't feel them to be safe. This was an exception. No problems at all. Social distancing in the lobby was challenging even though there were clearly marked spots on the floor. Some right in front of the coffee station were problematic sometimes. Being able to hear the adjoining room conversations very clearly through the connecting door, and also conversations from little vent over the bathroom sink. Otherwise, the rooms above and on the other side were quiet.

Called to make reservation and ask questions o 8/5/20 at 11:28 am. Phone rang and rang. Someone finally picked up the phone and immediately hung it back up. I called back, no answer. How rude and what an awful way to do business. If the front desk is busy, the least they can do is answer and ask you to hold on, instead of hanging up on you. Not a place I want to do business with.

Right off the bat, I could say there were things to like, and dislike. Pigeon Forge has really grown over the last few yrs, so there is quite a few hotels to choose from. So we got ELR at a very good price for this time of year- less than $70 per night. The room was reasonably adequate and met most of our needs even though the AC didn't work very well and was TURN ON HIGH AT THE LOWEST TEMP. Same with the refrigerator. The hotel could use some updating and had a 1980s look to me. But hey, it's an Econo lodge. Check in took a few minutes longer, and I am not sure why since there was only one other person checking in. (We booked online) Rooms were cleaned descent, but the carpets need shampooing more often. Rooms have- 32" tv, dresser, sm eatting and sitting tbl, microwave, frig. Advertised breakfast- NO!! THEY DID NOT MAKE THIS HAPPEN, very disappointing. I didn't include any photos, since there are plenty. As a note, when traveling north to the hotel, it can be challenging getting into the driveway with traffic. Be careful. Indoor pool and hot tub. Finally, would I stay here again... No. Would not.
