Description

from East Ballard Brewery Tour
This is the part of Ballard where pioneering visionaries brewed the first barrel of Redhook Ale back in 1983 and started a craft brewing revolution. That revolution continues in the neighborhood with the highest concentration of craft breweries in the world. How this happened is part of the story that has made Seattle, and Ballard, the world's premier craft brewing center.

We will explore this history, the history of beer, and learn about different beer styles with a guided tasting of 12 different and unique beers. The seasons change, and so do the beers. Each tour is unique and we'll sample freshly brewed beers appropriate to the time of year and the individual brewers. We will learn what to look for when tasting new beers and appreciate the many historic and contemporary styles.

Lucky Envelope Brewing
In Chinese culture, the Red Envelope brings luck, in our case we are lucky it also means great beer. Known for its award-winning Six Weeks Series Lagers, sour beers and Northwest IPAs, there is always something new on tap at Lucky Envelope. Its cozy taproom is a great place to meet friends and try new beers. We will get a close-up view of the brewing process and learn how great beer is made.

Populuxe Brewing
Voted the most Family Friendly Brewery in Seattle, the large beer garden and Pinball Gallery gives the youngsters plenty to do while their folks are enjoying a brew. We will be able to enjoy beers that draw on the brewing traditions of Europe, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Northwest but are not restricted to any rigid classification. A great place for award-winning beers in a hip, retro setting.

Bad Jimmy's Brewing Company
Jimmy's may be bad, but they are good type of bad. Known for their "intense ales," they like to experiment and take their beers to the extreme. The brewers are dedicated to craft beer and to consistently offering the most innovative creations they can. The results are amazing. We will try some familiar styles and perhaps something you never expected to find.

We had a great time with Tim on the tour, he was knowledgeable and a pleasant company. We tasted several different types of beer and were educated on how to identify the different flavors.

My husband and I visited Seattle in September 2018 from Calgary, Canada and scheduled a tour with Tim for one of our evenings. We were extremely interested in one of the tours that wasn't offered on the day we were available and were over the moon when Tim accommodated us for that particular tour.It was a fantastic casual evening, with lots of visiting and as much knowledge on beer and the Seattle brew scene as a person could ask for. Tim knew the answer to every question we asked and so much more. The evening was more akin to spending quality time with a longtime friend who knows the best places to go, than an formal and stuffy tour.Fabulous experience. Definitely recommend and will look Tim up when we are back in beautiful Seattle.

I did this tour for a bachelor party. It was fun but I wished they didn’t combine 2 different groups with the tour. Our guide Tim was great he just needs to speak a little louder but made sure he communicated with both groups and was very personal and new our names and faces. Made the experience really enjoyable.

Great tour, loved being able to see some of the brews that Seattle has all in one neighborhood. Honestly, unlike any other brew tour I've been on, certainly the most informative about beers overall as well as about the ones we sampled. I thoroughly enjoyed it - and I don't drink beer!
