Description

from DC Ducks
See the famous Smithsonian Museums and many other magnificent Washington DC points of interest…then hold onto your seat as you head straight for the Potomac River, and take the big splash!

On board the DC Ducks Tour you’ll enjoy the area’s most extraordinary sightseeing excursion while riding in an authentic, fully restored DC Duck vehicle. The Ducks were created in 1942 following the attack on Pearl Harbor and became a vital means of transporting supplies from ships to areas that did not have port facilities. The vehicles were built by encasing two and a half ton GM trucks in a watertight shell.

Now, one of the most entertaining ways to sightsee in Washington DC, the DC Ducks take guests on a journey through the city to see various malls, monuments and museums before heading to the Potomac for a leisurely river cruise. Along the way, our expert Conducktors will amuse and enlighten with intriguing facts, historical accounts and tales about our capital city.

And the best part, it all takes place in one vehicle, without you ever having to leave your seat! Once in the river, the DC Duck Tour will sail past various spots of interest, including Gravely Point, where you may just glimpse an airplane overhead as it soars in for a landing at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Take the children, grab your friends and head out for a 90-minute adventure that’ll thrill and delight you all. The DC Ducks Tour departs every 30 minutes from Union Station.

"Cool tour"

While in DC for a conference my friend and I went on this tour. It was cool being in an original "duck" while is a car on land and a boat in the water. The tour is 1-1/2 hours long (30 minutes on land to the Potomac, 30 minutes in the Potomac and 30 minutes back on land) They allow children to steer while the duck is in the water and that's cool for the kids. The biggest downfall for me was being subjected to the tour guide's political views. I did not pay to hear how he feels about the current administration and he should keep his views to himself.

"More Wonderful than Expected"

The Duck Tour was more wonderful than expected! We were comfortably seated, and in thrall of Captain Jim's patter about all the buildings and statues we saw on land and on the water. Going from land to water was a highlight! Loved hearing about the production of these duck boats. Best of all was cruising on the water and finally feeding the ducks who knew to come to our boat. Highly recommended!
