"Worse vacation in quite a while"
October 2016
First of all Dayton House has 3 buildings. We were given a room in the one across the street from the beach . Don't ever stay there. we were startled awake every morning by a noise. The final straw came when they were repairing the roof, much banging and hammering and we were not warned nor offered a different room while this was going on. When I called the front desk they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about but said that he would call us back. Never received a call back. Secondly, do not be deceived by the name,no way was that a RESORT. There was a red stain on the carpet and on the mattress, I'll let you decide what that might have been.

"Wonderful! But needs more handicap parking.."
June 2016
I just returned from my first trip to Myrtle Beach. The Dayton House is a great place to stay. We had a beautiful, clean partial ocean view room, and the hotel has three pools, two Jacuzzis, and a lazy river. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and they are a short distance from the fabulous Broadway on the Beach. The grounds at the Dayton House were immaculately kept. It's a great place for families. And the price was very reasonable, a great value for what you get. The only problem I had was parking..We had a disabled adult that's in a wheelchair and it was really hard finding handicap parking. I had to drop that person off and then park a distance from the motel which I wasn't fond of but I would still recommend the Dayton House.

"Relaxing At The Dayton House Resort"
July 2015
This was our first time staying in Myrtle Beach and we took a chance booking a Hotel we had never been to. We had a great stay. We were upgraded to a ocean view suite as soon as we checked in. The yello umbrella area was a great addition to our stay. Never had to worry about finding a place to lay out and enjoy the ocean. The pools were fantastic and not overly crowded. We plan to come back again next year, because this Hotel is centrally located with plenty of restaurants and fun places to go.

"Ok place to stay"

We had a great view of the ocean from our room, but that was the only thing to write home about. The room was an older room and you could tell it had been remodeled several times.

We were able to check in early and our room was very nice, functional room for the money. We didn't use any of the facilities, but other than a noisy shower we were very satisfied and got what we paid for. We have stayed here before and will again

"A good place to stay right at the beach"

This is a good place to stay if you want to be right at the beach. It is centrally located and many food choices within walking or driving distance. My son especially enjoyed the pool. Staff is friendly. Breakfast was really good - better than the average hotel there. The only criticism is that the place needs an upgrade. Everything seems old and outdated. The showers were not the best as the water is the shower head was leaky and the water sometimes backed up in the tub. Despite these misgivings we would probably go back depending on pricing. The beach and the pools were excellent.

Edited to add Mitchell called us and made this right This hotel made me feel very unsafe I have stayed here for years sometimes multiple times a year and it’s just not the place it once was Let me tell you what happened We come down for my daughters birthday... we check in and go up the room and the building is nasty I mean the elevator smelled awful... We made these reservations 6 months prior and said we wanted at least floor 6 So we called and John was rude to me but he did change the room said it was An “upgrade” But said there wasn’t one available my last day so instead of enjoying the beach I have to pack up and change rooms... it’s just very uncalled for But the icing on the cake is that they let a man into my room.. they booked the room twice so a man entered mine and my daughters room while We was sleeping . He was in here long enough to look around and turn all our lights on before realizing our luggage was there. Anything could have happened my wallet was right on the sink thankfully nothing was taken so I walked in the hallway to check the lock and he apologized said his partner went to check where they was suppose to go the hotel acted like it was no big deal I have to slam my door everyone I exit cause it doesn’t shut and this hotel was renovated? I have a few days left but after I leave I will not be back to Dayton house resort!

Edited to add Mitchell called us and made it right Dayton house has been my favorite hotel for the past 6 years, every girls trip, family vacation we always chose Dayton house... Anyone who asked where they should stay when they vacation to Myrtle beach I always said Dayton house resort until this year it was different it wasn’t the same experience I have had in the past years so let me explain... I check in and they put me in the middle building which I always request a higher floor so not to get a room in that building but they say renovations have been done so we go check it out as soon as we walk in we notice an odd smell in that building and the elevator smells of straight urine the whole building is just not clean in my opinion So we call down stairs and John upgrades us to a better building I will say they tried to make that better but he was still rude to us... Well our reservations was for 5 nights and they only had the room for 4 so the last night of our stay we have to pack up and move to a different room so that’s inconvenient but I understand Next and this is where it gets bad we were asleep around 10:30 at night and we hear someone enter our room we look and the lights are on we had turned them off my mom decides to go out and see if the lock to our door is broken and a man is standing there waiting on his partner to come up he apologizes and says the hotel gave him the keys to our room (they had double booked it I guess) and he needed to find out where he was suppose to be... it scared us to be woken up by a random person in our room the hotel acted like it was nothing... Also The door to our hotel room doesn’t shut without being slammed anyway In my opinion the hotel is just going down hill and I do believe this will be my last stay at Dayton house resort...

We have been to this resort twice with a group of friends that have been coming here for 15 years. The resort offers multiple amenities and is right on the beach. We have enjoyed spending time here the last 2 years. The hotel was very responsible as taking into account about the virus. We felt very safe, as many people will get affected and not have any issues. As long as you take care of yourself you should be OK.
