The D is our choice of Hotels when visiting Vegas. The rooms are great as is the affordable rate. We don't gamble much at The D as we enjoy the Fremont Casino the most. The music at the D is at a constant high volume which makes it difficult to play blackjack and visit with the dealer.

This main floor of the gambling hall is probably geared more toward younger the crowd. Dancing dealers and music. All Games a good casino needs. However if make it to the second floor you’ll find older slots and games. No quarter machines though. They do have a quarter operating (only one still in Vegas) Sigma Derby. That game is a blast. Hearing all the quarters fall when you win, watching the horse hopping around the the track., hearing the players cheer on their horses. Great times.

"My 50th Bday Weekend"

My wife and I invited a couple that we love to come to Vegas for an extended weekend. It was my first time in Vegas and I spent way more time than I’m willing to admit to find the right place. We were trying to keep to a moderate budget to allow for gambling and good food and drink. After lots of consternation, we settled on Downtown Vegas, picking a hotel that plugs the owner’s hometown of Metro Detroit. If you’re not from Michigan, you might not even notice and that’s ok. I couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay Downtown. I’m very simple and like good value. Downtown Vegas and Fremont Street is not for everyone. If you have impressionable children, don’t stay or visit. The street performers on Fremont Street are very provocative and is not appropriate for children and adults who are easily offended. We did visit the Strip on two occasions and the opulence is something to see. The over the top grandeur is part of the experience of going to Vegas. It’s simply amazing and beautiful. However, if you’re like me, you’re staying Downtown. Everything is cheaper. The gambling minimums are actually affordable. The comped drinks flow more readily and the food options are incredibly affordable. We walked out of The D onto Fremont with live music, DJs and amazing dining and gambling options. Downtown is not for everyone. The D nailed it with location, service, comfortable rooms and amazing gaming options. Downtown Vegas is what everyone wants to experience. The Strip is now overpriced and just doesn’t provide value. If you need opulence with no budget, stay at one of newer Strip mega resorts. Thanks to The D for your amazing hotel/casino. Our entire party loved our stay!

Fantastic room and the service was wonderful. You can obviously tell the rooms are old but they have been redone in a very old fashioned but modern way. The service staff was wonderful to deal with as well.

"Never again!"

Throughout the many hotel casinos I have visited, I have never encountered the amount of smoke as I was subjected to at the D casino. And, if that wasn’t bad enough, when I stepped into an elevator to go to my room, a woman smoking a cigarette also got into the elevator because there seemed to be no rules preventing that from happening! I was so horrified, I immediately exited the elevator before the doors closed so I wouldn’t be trapped with the smoke. I’m not done. We had to physically push furniture around to find outlets and there was a nonstop drip from the shower head. Never again.
