"Why does Jesus look different in every scene?"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Being honest here, we weren’t exactly blown away with the Christ In The Smokies Museum. Each scene is a scenario in the life of Jesus and features a brief audio narration. You are told NOT to move ahead as the lights will only come on after the previous scene is complete. While the scenes are presented well for the most part (his ascension into heaven though was quite tacky in my opinion), I had to question why each figure if Jesus looked different. It was quite jarring sometimes walking between scenes and seeing Jesus look completely different than he did in the previous room. And some of the supporting figures in the scenes really did look like a person-shaped candle (very waxy). The Gardens portion features the “world famous” Christ statue which has eyes that follow you wherever you go. They make it seem like it’s something amazing and one of a kind, but haunted houses and Halloween attractions have been using the same effect for years. And that is another issue I had with the museum. It was extremely dark inside. I kept waiting for Satan to jump scare me or something. It really did seem more like a haunted house than a religious museum. Remember, this is just my opinion. Not trying to be blasphemous or anything. I just expected better based on all of the stellar reviews I saw here. On the plus side, parking is free if you visit the museum!

"Expensive Respite"

Can we give an honest opinion? Well we are going to without permission anyway. The cost to get into this attraction is $13.99 per person. Our thought was okay it is going for a Godly presentation lets see what they have to offer. The 45 minute presentation was accurate albeit could use some modernization (not the message but the presentation). This presentation depicts the birth death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on earth (at least the highlights). It was accurate. We were a bit disappointed that it just spoke the facts but did not offer the answers as to what His life actually meant and how one might meet Him in Heaven one day. Instead they leave that for the visitors to search out for themselves. Perhaps they do not want to take a stand so they can appeal to a broader scope of people who may not believe. For us we felt it fell short of our expectations and did not continue Jesus's work here on earth. That would be our take on this experience. Still a factual representation of Jesus walk on earth.

We took the 45-60 minute audio-narrated tour w/life-like scenes of the life, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ. It is very well done and well worth the time. They also have an excellent gift shop and very nice people work there!
