"Chef John is a blast!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

We had some out of town visitors (never been to Seattle), so I wanted to make sure to show them the BEST places at Pike Place Market - and Eat Seattle's Chef John delivered! He does a great job of mixing educational information and fun-to-know tidbits about the history, lore, and behind-the-scenes organization of the Market, as only a true Local can share. His passion for food and this special place are clear; he was frequently hailed and greeted as we walked, so he's truly at home and among friends, not just a paid mouthpiece who's been trained to parrot a script about a tourist attraction. And the food - YUM!! Both my boyfriend and I discovered places we haven't been to before, and our friends were blown away by all the treats Chef John served us - especially the dried products at "Simply The Best" (their name is NOT an exaggeration), the bacon at "Bavarian Meats" and the chocolates at "Indi Chocolates" (a *huge* production and retail space in the new part of the Market), and the salmon jerky at "Pike Place Fish" (which my boyfriend *reluctantly* tasted - and then ate a BUNCH more of, it's so good!). A great 2 hours that leads to good eats and repeats at the featured places...we'll be going back, again and again, for sure!

"Cooking class at the Atrium Kitchen"

Wow, Wow, Wow!!!! Thank you Chef Eric, Heather, and Evan!! What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon! We registered for the Paella class and it didn’t disappoint! Heather greeted us when we arrived and was the perfect host for the rest of the afternoon! Chef Eric‘s menu was delicious and he included us in the preparation of all the dishes! The salad, paella, and blueberry bread pudding were outstanding! ( enjoyed the local wine, too). It was a special treat to start our vacation! Chef Eric also took us through the Pike Place Market to show us where all the local ingredients came from. We loved the social aspect of the class and enjoyed “cooking” with the rest of the participants! Highly recommend spending an afternoon with the people from Eat Seattle!

"Great experience-just one thing needs to be changed. "

We had a wonderful experience with Eat Seattle touring Pike Place Market. Our guide, Chef Eric was wonderful, knowledgeable and he took us to places we would never had know. He was also passionate about the market and gave insights into what goes on. One thing should be changed, joining our tour was a family with young children. They were distracting and disruptive. If Eat Seattle wants to guide a family with young children they should separate the tours so not to ruin the experience for grown ups. I would have rated this 5 stars but feel this is something that should be changed. All our best to Chef Eric-we had a great experience and enjoyed the 2 hours immensely.

"Chef guided tour of the market "

I would became be able to navigate through the sea of people with this market if it wasn’t for our guide/chef. He not only gave a great history of the Pike Place Market, but stories and insider info that only a chef would know. We even got to meet “Gus” the seagull and saw secret getaways within the market. It was great to jump with line and get samples of food in the most popular places (Mac n cheese, chowder, yogurt , smoked salmon). I only wish we had drinks and so time to sit and rest a bit.
