"Thought it was a good hotel until I saw the bedbugs crawling on me"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

I found this hotel because there were several big conferences in town and the chain hotels where I usually stay were all booked up. I was nervous about booking here, but based on the reviews (and the price) I decided to try it. Upon checked-in, I was very pleased with the experience and professionalism of the front desk person. I took the elevator to the room, grabbed a bottle of water in the hallway (neat idea!) and went to my room. Initially, I thought "Hey this is actually pretty good!" For the price it was a very good value, and things seemed clean and comfortable. Because it was late at night I hung up some things in the closet and then took a shower and got into bed to read for a bit. After a few minutes reading in bed with the lamp on, I felt something on my arm and saw that a tiny bug was crawling on me. Thinking nothing of it, I pinched it and set it on a card on the night stand and went back to reading. A moment later I felt something on my leg. I pulled back the sheet and saw another similar bug crawling on my leg. And several more crawling on the sheets around me. I realized with horror that these were bedbugs. I got out of bed, called the desk, & the night manager coolly told me to come down to get another room. I got BACK in the shower again just to be safe and then packed my suitcase up and headed to the lobby. By now it was probably after midnight. The night manager calmly explained that my bags would need to go back up to the room to be "heat treated" and I would get another room. I pulled out my toiletries (since I didn't want a puddle of melted deodorant in my bag). I also had several expensive merino wool sweaters that I didn't want to have "heat treated" (I explained this to the night manager) and asked for a plastic bag for them. I was then issued another room key (without any sort of apology) and went to another room down the hall from the first (on the same 6th floor). As you can imagine, I took ANOTHER shower and put the bag of merino wool sweaters inside the tiled shower after I was done, just to prevent the possibility of anything that might have infested them from getting to the bed. It was after 1 am and needless to say, it was very difficult to relax and sleep (despite the bed being very comfortable). Throughout the remainder of my 4 day stay, no member of the staff EVER acknowledged the issue, apologized, or offered any conciliatory gesture. Now I'm paranoid about bringing them home with me.

"Front desk staff overnight"

Don’t ask the front desk for help in the middle of the night! Front desk staff “Billy” will hang up on you if you’re frustrated because your shower doesn’t work at 12:30 at night. Wouldn’t give me anyone to contact above him to make a complaint. He just told me “he is on vacation”. I will never stay here again because the front desk staff over night is extremely rude and unprofessional. I wish I could get a refund
