We stayed in suite 709 , the pictures online need to be updated, it was very nice but started to get age on the unit, the room was clean , but we had no patio furniture, was told by the lady at the front desk that some owner do no provide it, what was the point to be ocean front if you had no where to sit, so we had to use our beach chairs. we had to go to the front desk because our blinds in the living room did not work and the dvd player was missing, they did come right away to fix these issues. But everyday at 9am i would call down to have our trash and towels picked up and asked for new towels, i would let them know that we would be leaving and just the leave the towels outside our door, but everyday we would come back around 3 or later and no towels but the dirty towels and trash would be gone , so i would have to call again and someone came 1 to 2 hours later. this was my biggest problem , because they would make up stuff like are you shore they didn't leave them in your room, or they must have skip you by mistake , and the best was are you shore you called it in. Also the first two night all you could hear at night was the cars in the parking deck and out on the street , if you stay here i would ask for a room on the 10th floor or higher , you could not hear anything up there. There was always a very strong pot smell every time we would go to the pool or sit out on the balcony, even though they have signs up everywhere saying they will make you leave if caught smoking, this never happened. Did like the location on the hotel , we walked almost everywhere But i do not think i will stay here again. Also we left some sand toys and sunblock out on the balcony in the corner and a in the bottom drawer of the dresser in the queen bedroom we left a new swimsuit for a toddler and two beach hat, so you know if they did a good job cleaning or not

"Contacted hotel before trip to see if there were problems, told its OK and then we had to move"

Lets see where do I start, I read a few reviews about the maintenance on this hotel (balconies being closed) a few days before our trip so I called the resort and asked what was going on. I contacted a guy at front desk named James, I addressed my concerns and asked him if we were going to be affected and that I have read other recent postings on Trip Advisor, to which he said we had nothing to worry about, my wife also contacted James and was told the exact same thing the next day. Upon arrival there was a big sign on the front desk that said "Balconies Closed due to painting" and the lady at the front desk said this has been going on for the last few months. At this point it was confirmed that James is an idiot who doesn't tell the truth when asked a basic question. The very nice lady at reception however went out of her way to arrange our stay at the Carolinian a few doors down.

Having never been to South Carolina, we decided to use our Wyndham Rewards to take a trip to Myrtle Beach. We choose Camelot by the Sea because of its location. We were in the middle of all we wanted to do. The staff were great, the room overlooked the beach and we were within walking distance of great resturants and entertainment. This was a great hotel that provided everything we wanted.

"Check if you have a renovated room BEFORE you book"

Recently booked this hotel as part of a room block for a special event. We had a very old room that was dirty and out of date. The doors open to the outside (motel style) so be aware. I do know that some rooms are more up to date (units can be privately owned) so those may be better but do your homework first.

So we booked a multi family trip consisting of 2 rooms. Throughout the booking process nothing was said of construction/ remodeling of the resort or anything of the sort. We arrived to find that none of the ocean view balconies were accessible and would not be throughout our week of stay. Additionally we had numerous issue while staying... 1. While prepping to paint hallways a worker pulled the fire alarm causing the entire resort to be evacuated. 2. We had to exchange our key cards literally every time room service came by for a total of 9 exchanged cards. These were all from one room. The managers response was terrible and not helpful at all, just ridiculous. 3. There was a leak on the door wall in one room which caused a chair to become soaked during a storm as well as a very humid room. 4. While we had the do not disturb sign in the key slot for our door, a cleaner entered the room anyway... I’ve never had this happen before but was not very impressed with the situation couldn’t believe it. 5. The lights in our 12th floor room all kept going out and we found we had to “bump the light bulbs” to get them back on... There are a lot of resorts on this strip of myrtle beach and we will definitely not be staying here again.
