"Great place for families"
August 2016
My family and I arrived after a very long 14 hour drive for a 5 day vacation. The front desk was wonderful in assisting us with our reservation and getting us into our room. Once in our room, of course the kids (7,11 &15) had to check everything out. There were a set of bunk beds for the younger two and a pull out sleeper for the older one. They all said their beds were comfortable, most mornings none of them wanted to get out of bed. The master bed room and balcony was my favorite. There was a jucuzzi tub in the master (which the kids got to use, not mom). And the quite mornings on the balcony with a breathtaking view was heaven for me. Every night the boys went swimming, not the biggest pool I've seen at hotels but it was very clean and fun for the kids. All in all for the time we went actually in the hotel. I would say it's the best one I've been to. Definitely will be visiting again.

Great place to stay. Swimming pool was wonderful after long day at the parks. Great location to seaworld, and not far from universal. Rooms were very clean and having the washer dryer in room was so nice. Its like a small apartment. Will definately stay here again if going to orlando. And the staff was great.

"Disney trip"
June 2016
I have stayed at this resort a couple of times. It's near restaurants, Walmart, Disney parks, and shopping . Overall, I had no problems with the stay and there are just a couple of things that I didn't like. The shuttle no longer takes you to Sea World or any other location than Disney World. If you catch the free shuttle you have to go to Epcot and catch the tram or bus from there to the other parks. You have to sign up all travelers the night before, before 10pm, and pick up your travel ticket before boarding the transportation. Make sure that your number of riders are correct. There is only one or two times that you can leave for Epcot. However, there are several return times. You can choose after 6pm, after 8pm, or after 10pm. I can't remember the exact times but I believe they are on the half hour, 6:30 pm, 8:30 pm, or, 10:30 pm. Note: you will to have your return ticket to board the bus going back to the resort. If you change your mind about the return time that you chose, call the number on your ticket before 3pm and reschedule. You can only board the bus/van at the time that you chose. The only other shuttle that the resort has goes to Magic Kingdom and it is not free. It will cost you $12 per person to take this shuttle. It's not worth it! Go to Epcot and take the tram or bus....they're free from park to park. I only had one issue during my last stay and that was that we had a group of 16 waiting to go to Epcot and they came with a 12 passenger van. They did fix it quickly and put us all on a bus.

We chose this location because the rooms were large enough to fit our family of 5, but both the room and location were awesome! Located close by a Wal-Mart and dollar tree which was very convenient with the kitchen in suite. Grounds very well maintained and staff was bery polite and helpful!

"Great View, Nothing More - Dangerous Construction"

Had high hopes for the Blue Heron. We've stayed across the street at the Sheraton Vistana Resort several times. Despite reserving through Booking Basics (That said all Taxes and Fees were covered) we had to pay the cleaning and resort fees, $120. Ridiculous. We were put into tower 1, which is undergoing crazy construction. so so so loud. We had to ask to be moved, which they did. We were happy with the move to tower 2. Speaking of construction. One morning we were sitting by the pool, and a construction worker accidentally dropped a roll of painters tape 20 stories and landed about 2 feet away from my pregnant wife's head. Not so much as an apology given by anyone. If it were me that dropped the tape or heard about it, the contractor or the manager should have been out making it right. Pro - Hotel Room view was nice -Kitchen was nice and spacious -Pool area open early, to very late - not very crowded -Food at Tiki Bar was above average -Close to Disney Springs -View of Epcot Fireworks is great -Sunrise was breathtaking each day -Plenty of shade in pool area -Washer/Dryer worked great and is very helpful Con -All furniture is dingy and old -Bedding is old and flimsy - Extra Fees are insane -Construction is loud and obstructive when trying to have a relaxing trip -Thin walls can lead to loud noises when trying to sleep There is a lot of potential with this place, it can easily be a 4/5 location, management needs to do a better job and maybe once the construction is done it can be better.

Stayed at the Blue Heron for a family vacation and loved the views from the balcony! Front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. Asked to speak to manager several times regarding a few issues and was never able to. Phillip the GM NEVER returned my sisters call. It does not look good at a resort when the GM of the property does not take initiative. We will definitely return since the front desk staff was very helpful!

Our room was very nice. My only issue was, if your on a fixed vacation budget websites need to be very forward with ALL fees. We arrived at the hotel to find out that there were “resort fees” that were an extra $100-$150 (approximately).

"Building site not a hotel!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed October 04, 2019 NEW
Don't know where to start with this one. Arrived at the hotel, quite late, after a long journey only to be told we would not be allowed to book into our room unless we paid extra fees for cleaning and resort fees. We had booked through Stayforlong, and at the time of booking no resort fees were mentioned which should have been the case. Anyway, a few hundred dollars later we were given the key by the quite rude and abrupt receptionist and we made our way to the apartment block. The first site to meet us was the condition of the lift, my daughter was actually scared to get into it. We then made our way along the hall to the apartment to our door and were greeted by as very enthusiastic dog who clearly didn't like the sound of anyone passing outside its door and this continues for the duration, I think they may be long term residents. Straight to bed and after a crap night's sleep we were woken by the resident workmen. They are sandblasting old paintwork and drilling to their hearts content and this is a daily occurrence as is the painting which is going on. Ok these guys are just there to do a job but no prior warning that this was going to be happening and imagine walking out of the lift almost into a set of ladders were there is a man trying to paint the bloody ceiling. We are walking through dust sheet covered in paint, dust, and the lifts are just the same. Shoes and sliders have paint on the soles, brushing against paint in the lifts. The rooms are dated and in need of repair, broken and damaged furniture, stained mattress on the sofa which is so disgusting I couldn't publish the picture here but will make management aware. The filth on top of and behind the tv, on top of the fridge, the dirt and dust on the curtains (please remember and pack an inhaler), filth down the side of the dryer and washer and the list goes on. THEY CHARGE A CLEANING FEE!!!! Oh, did I mention the lovely ducks swimming and crapping in the pool which doesn't get cleaned despite the amount of dust that's coming off the buildings when the are stripping the old paint off and the many many lumps of chewing gum that get stuck to your lovely pool shoes that never get scraped up. THEY CHARGE A CLEANING FEE AND RESORT FEES!!!! HOWEVER THE MOST ALARMING THING OF ALL AND THIS IS WHAT HAS DISGUSTED ME THE MOST,AND I WILL GO FULL ON PUBLIC WITH THIS, IS THAT THEY COVERED UP THE SMOKED DETECTOR. IN MY PICTURES YOU WILL SEE THE 12TH FLOOR SMOKE DETECTOR COVERED AND TAPED A PHOTO TAKEN AT 9.30PM IN THE EVENING. NO REGARD FOR ANYONE'S SAFETY ON THAT FLOOR. Nobody from management available to speak to at this moment in time 10pm 04/10/2019, we are unfortunately here until 10/10/2019
