This was our first trip to Maui and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place. Our unit was on the fourth floor and on the corner. There were two bedrooms and two bathrooms plus a kitchen and large living area. The balcony had furniture and a dining table. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony eating breakfast and/or lunch with the beautiful ocean view. We could see Lanai and Moloka’i in the distance from our unit. The windows facing the ocean were floor to ceiling. The unit was clean, comfortable, and modern and the kitchen had all the amenities we could need. The resort was close to multiple beautiful famous beaches. Plus Lahaina was only 5-10 minutes away, affording lots of shopping and dining options. The pool was a bit small but definitely adequate for our needs. Overall, we highly recommend this resort and would love to stay here again!

"Ocean Front!"

This was our first time at Aston Mahana, 3rd time for an Aston property in Maui. We booked through Costco and got a studio, which was perfect for my husband and I on this trip. Floor to ceiling windows, yes, and you can hear the ocean as well, we were on the 7th floor. Loved the view!!!! Front desk was helpful, our cleaning person did an excellent job. Though the times they show up vary so if you have dinner plans just ask for extra towels, so on the day they don't show up till later, you can prepare for your event without concern. Toiletries included, soap, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner (Hawaiian Tropic brand)We also received a DVD Now card, which permits you to rent movies from a kiosk they have in the building to the right of the lobby, but you do not pay extra for this. Do verify though, since not all rooms are the same, they are individually owned and what is included may vary. We were out every day snorkeling or on a board or boat. We like the privacy and quietness of the property, there is no restaurant on property and no shows. There is a concierge that books for you through Expedia, there is a pool and Jacuzzi, also a grill location to use. Most mornings we enjoyed a walk. Head towards the ocean, first to the beach, then to your left and up to the walking path, or continue on the beach. There are restaurants by other resorts (with evening music), and beach areas that are easier to get into. The beach in front of Mahana is not easy, for it is has coral at the shoreline. But within 5 minutes to the left you are in the water. We liked going to "airport beach" after sunset, but not dark yet, it is so beautiful, just walk and enjoy. The studio has a full size refrigerator so if you stop at Costco you can fit what you get, we made breakfast and sandwiches to go for lunch and out for dinner. We are there for the water!!! We stayed 9 days. There is also a grocery store across the street, called Times, you can get everything there as well, they even sell body boards, towels, beach toys for kids, etc. The island does not use plastic bags, so bring a canvas bag for your groceries if you want, if your forgot, buy at ABC store something, get bag, and use that. If you are looking for a resort with entertainment this is not for you, if you are looking for a place to 'live' while on the island with full ocean view and sound, this is for you!!

"I don't want to do a review- this is a hidden gem!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

I really didn't want to do a positive review, because I don't want the prices to increase and make it more difficult to get a room lol. BUT...they just do such a great job here. All of the employees seem genuinely happy to be there, which says something. One of the gals at the front desk I think has been there 30 years! All of the rooms are ocean views- you cannot beat the view. My main goal in searching for a place to stay on either Maui or Kauai was the view. The condo had everything we needed. So for the husband to watch a little TV in the AC and the teenager to do the usual "hanging out" on her phone- they could both enjoy the views from inside with the huge windows, while I had coffee or wine on the balcony. You are so close to the ocean it's almost too loud to sleep with the doors open lol. If you're looking for a fancy pool with restaurants, etc, this isn't the place. There are plenty of those resort style hotels surrounding this property. The Mahana does have a nice pool and plenty of people enjoyed it. Lots of seating around it with grass and lounge chairs nearby before you are on the beach. They also have very clean BBQ's near the pool and then along a path. My husband was impressed with how nice they were. The beach itself doesn't have a large sandy area, but a very short walk south gives you access to a nice beach for sunning, some shade, swimming, and snorkeling. Also Duke's is right next door as well. The rooms are quiet with very little neighbor noise, and the balconies are very private. There are food trucks nightly right across from the Times Market and all is in walking distance. ABC store is next-door, and this one also does eat in and to go foods. Just a short walk beyond ABC is several restaurants with good food as well. It was great to be able to pick up food and eat and enjoy the views from the condo most nights! We also did take and bake pizza and salad from Times to save some $.

"Mahana unit 406 👍"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed July 12, 2019 NEW
Our first stay at the Mahana was not in this unit but in another unit nearby on the same floor with 2 bathrooms. While we loved the view, (and the 2 baths) the owners had a property management company handle everything and unfortunately it just wasn’t very well maintained. The faucets leaked, the bathroom doors were warped and difficult to close, the bedroom drapes had mold and the toilets ran and were noisy. Additionally, the shag carpet in the bedroom was very old and dated and a bit crunchy. (Ewww!) So we decided to give unit 406 on the same floor a try. What a difference it makes when you rent directly from an owner who cares!! Dianna the owner, is such a joy to work with. We felt so welcome from the very start. Unit 406 is even more beautiful than the photos. And it what we really appreciated was how immaculately clean it was. Every appliance was very well maintained and although every last detail was designer perfect, it had an undeniable warmth that felt like home. In fact, we were so crazy about Dianna’s home we rebooked with her for the same time the following year before we even checked out. We have stayed at many ocean front condos up and down the in Kaanapali coast but this is our absolute favorite!
