"Amazing hotel"

After the easy check-in, we didn’t have to move our car from the attached parking garage for the entire stay, or even after check-out. Aloft is right in the center of everything. Enjoyed sitting at the outdoor patio and watching everyone leaving a show at The Orange Peel, which is just steps away. Room was very clean, well decorated and modern. Loved the frosted glass shower wall. Our room only had a walk in shower, which wasn’t an issue. The pool and dog area outside looked very inviting, although we didn’t use either. The dog for adoption in the lobby was a super cute touch. The dog that was there when we checked out, we spotted later that day with someone walking downtown. Will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

"Dog lovers Utopia"

Felt so welcomed with my two GoldenDoodles! And my sister... staff brought dog beds, toys and biscuits to our room! The entire hotel is dog friendly so I could bring my pets to the cocktail lounge, which always had live music! If dogs were barking in our room we were notified that the dogs missed us and its time to come back. Felt entirely welcome! Food was delicious. Environment artsy and contemporary. Very fun hotel!

"Very good stay overall"

Hotel overall is modern overall with some good artsy touches. It is welcoming; all staff I encountered were friendly and helpful - especially Tommy, helping us with my dog- the free lobby coffee in the AM is great quality. The room was in good order: everything worked as it should. Spotlessly clean. One small thing: the armchair in our 3rd floor room is showing wear and tear, and needs to be replaced. This is a very pet friendly place: no dog fees, and they cheerfully provided dog bed, bowl, and treats for FREE. The workout room had everything I needed. I will recommend this property, and will stay again.

"Perfect for us, not for everyone"

You'll love this hotel if you have the right expectations. Aloft isn't trying to emulate the Westin or JW Marriott brand. If those are your preference, you might prefer the AC just a few blocks north. I almost chose the AC, but now I'd absolutely choose the Aloft if I return to Asheville. The location was perfect. It was an easy walk to all parts of downtown. The mountain view (especially the balcony rooms on the 6th floor) was outstanding. Our room was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly. No, the rooms aren't huge. There isn't a pull-out couch or large sitting area. And the view more than makes up for the size of the room. Yes, you have to go through the parking garage and into a lower floor (shared with an outdoor store) to get to the main lobby. I didn't find that to be an inconvenience. Parking and space is limited downtown, and they make the best of it. Yes, you may see dogs during your stay. While this is a "dog friendly" hotel, there were absolutely no issues or inconveniences during our stay. The foster puppy in the lobby was adorable and all the guests' dogs were well mannered. I suppose that could change based on who is staying at your hotel any given night. We didn't hear any barking during our stay. I hope to come back in the future.

"A different experience"

I stayed here with my wife on our way down to Charleston, SC after spending a night in Charlottesville, VA. As many others had mentioned, the hotel is pet friendly, and many people have dogs. This was not a problem for us, but it may be for some others, so I thought I would point this out, The hotel only has self-parking. This was a bit confusing, since the entrance to the parking garage looks like it is just public parking, but it is shared public and hotel parking. Just pick an entrance and make your way up to level P1 to get to the lobby. Part of the experience is to be different than most hotels, which is evident as soon as you enter with the decor and music pumped in. Reception is on the second floor, which is a wide open expanse with the bar as well as the reception kiosk, which is a circular area in the middle of the floor. Service was pleasant, and everything I expected. We were upgraded to a mountain view room on the 4th floor. The room was clean, and the furnishings were modern. It was as if Ikea opened up a hotel. That said, the bed was very comfortable, and our room was plenty of space for two. Our room had a coffee maker as well as a mini refrigerator. The shower and toilet can separated from the sink area by a sliding door. There were some super minor issues with our room, such as a tile missing grout in the corner of the shower floor, and some touch up work needed on the bathroom ceiling, but it didn't impact our visit, because I have a few of these issues in my very own home, so it made it feel more like a home away from home. The location of this hotel is phenomenal, and there is much within walking distance. I think people who do not like pets, loud lobbies, or funky decor may not find their stay as enjoyable. However, we enjoyed our stay, and would consider staying here again.
